no more glossing for me
Advantages: cheap, easier than glossing Disadvantages: waiting for paint to dry
...a few years ago for Ronseal Paint and Grain.
So I took a look at the Do I t All and B&Q web sites. Few they still sold it. So I went along to Do It All and got some.
The box:
It's red with blackand white striped writting saying Ronseal and under that in white it says Paint and Grain. It shows all the diffrent colours it comes in, let's you know what the box contains. What you can and can't use the paint for, how to apply the paint, precautions ... ...again.
5. For added protection Ronseal recommend you use Ronseal quick Drying Clear Varnish. You have to buy this seperately though.
What I think of the product and the effect:
I love the effect this paint has left on my door and skirting boards it looks great. When i was painting with this product there was no horrid fumes either. It is so cheap and easy too use i will be using it all over the house. The first product I have used that does exactly ...

You can do it over again, if you B&Q it.
Advantages: Cheaper than other brands. Disadvantages: Thin & watery, poor coverage, runny.
...this product when my local B&Q ran out of another product in a similar shade of green.
Sold in 9 litre tubs, I chose Forest Green from a range of 4 basic colours.
Although it was substantially cheaper than the alternatives, I didn't like this product at all.
The product was very watery and runny and it needed 2 coats before the colour showed evenly. It was also very messy to work with and splashed a lot.
After unhappily living with the result ...

...painted the summer house a Cuprinol shades. We choose cuprinol garden shades to colour the summerhouse. Cuprinol shades is formulated for use on exterior wood rough sawn or smooth planed, can be used on sheds trellises garden benches, planters. This treatment is NOT suitable for decking
It can be applied to wood that has been previously pressure treated, or previously treated with creosote Cuprinol shades are available in 125ml, 1 litre, 2.5 litre, ... ...each it is suggest by cuprinol that a 5 litre tin is sufficient for smooth planed wood an area of 50m squared or if it is rough wood it will cover 14-24 m squared with 2 coats of shades
We bought ours at b&q not sure how much as someone else got it but online it costs £9.oo for a litre athttp://gardens.perfectbuy.co.uk I found 2 ½ litre cans for £16.79 at htmlhttp://www.gloriousgardens.org/

Garden Bliss
Advantages: Durable, allows natural grain to show through Disadvantages: May need to be reapplied every 7 years or so.
...Dutch sailing friends I found Sikkens Marine Cetol. In harsher weather conditions than ours they had used this product and it had proved remarkably resilient, so some 8 years ago I invested in my first tin, which was less than eight pounds in those days. The Product Itself Sold in an unremarkable 750 ml grey/blue tin, today this is a product from the Azkzo-Nobel group of Companies, typically distributed here in the UK by International Paints ... ...is sold in all our local chandleries, or online. This might sound expensive but high quality teak oil is often over £10 a go these days, and this can deteriorate whilst in the bottle. Sealers don't feed the wood like teak oil but, as the name suggests, they seal out moisture and dirt, and seal in natural oils and resins. There is to be fair no evidence that I have found that suggests that teak needs oiling to preserve it longer, it’s really the aesthetic ...
