Vaseline has been around for as long as I can remember, but over the past decade they have moved away from the seedy -ahem- lubricating business, and have now established themselves as a popular skincare range. The Aloe Fresh Body Lotion is one of many of their body lotion range, and, for me, a firm favourite.

First things first - Ciao, where the heck did you get that picture of this product? Some 1980s throw back show?! To all those of you staring at this picture wondering what the hell this dodgy handsoap looking product is, I can ASSURE you the packaging is not like that!
Anyway, back to the op. I am sat here, on my computer with my two gorgeous little doggies licking my legs. No, this isn't some dodgy sex game I play, it is the result of my slathering my body with Vaseline Intensive Care's Aloe Fresh Body Lotion!
Vaseline has been around for as long as I can remember, but over the past decade they have moved away from the seedy -ahem- lubricating business, and have now established themselves as a popular skincare range. The Aloe Fresh Body Lotion is one of many of their body lotion range, and, for me, a firm favourite.
Aloe Fresh has been out for about a year now (I THINK), and was advertised with a fab black girl with an afro boogying around the room. I hate to admit that advertising can sell me anything, but I thought that it was such a cool advert that when I saw this product in Wilkinsons for the bargain price of £2.49, I decided to give it a go.
The packaging of this product isn't the most exciting in the world, but is simple, plain and non-offensive! It is in a pale green bottle, with a squeezy nozzle and flip lid. On the front of the bottle is the Vasleine Intensive Care logo, and the promise that this product "Soothes, refreshes and rehydrates skin." It also tells us that the product contains both aloe vera and cucumber. On the back of the bottle, the blurb tells us that this product can be used as an aftersun, as after shave moisturiation, and for after shower moisturisation, all over the body. I can vouch that I have actually used this on my face when my usual moisturiser ran out, and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin!
The lotion itself is, like the bottle, pale green in colour, and quite runny. The good side of this is that it is really easy to rub in, and soaks into the skin easily. The bad side is that it is quite easy for too much lotion to come out of the bottle, and it's impossible to get back in! The lotion has a gorgeous fresh smell, which was very cucumbery and leaves you smelly and feeling fresh and clean!
To use this lotion, simple squeeze some into your hand, and rub it into the skin. I use around about a 10p blob for half a leg, which is plenty. At first it feels a bit greasey on the skin, but soon soaks in and feels smooth.
The lotion has good, but not amazing effects. My skin wasn't dry, itchy or tight, but neither was it gorgeously soft and strokable. I use this when I have gotten out of the shower or bath, but not for when I am about to go out (I have my Dove Body Silk for that!)
So, any downsides? Well other than the whole dogs licking my legs (they've given up now, and have flopped back into bed!), I do find the squeezy nozzle a bit of a pain. Any excessive lotion which you squeeze out congeals around the nozzle, which then goes crusty and green, and pretty damn minging! This can easily be stopped by wiping the lid with a tissue after use, but obviously me being as lazy as I am, I would never bother to do that!
I paid £2.49 for 200ml from Wilkinsons for this product, which I think is a pretty standard price. I'm not sure how much it costs in Boots and places like that, but you should all know by now that I buy most of my skincare products from cheapo places! It is available from various shops, including Tesco, Safeway, Boots and Superdrug.
The promise that Aloe Fresh gives you "Just got out of the shower freshness" I certainly would not dispute. It is very refreshing, but I think this is largely due to the smell. I prefer this product to other body lotions I have tried (pH 5.5, E45, Nivea), but it certainly isn't anything amazingly special. It does the job well though, and I guess I can't complain about that!
Advantages: Pleasant smell, easily absorbed, economical. Disadvantages: Only when you don't use it.
...moisturisation I often use the Vaseline Intensive Care range, and most usually this one, the Aloe Fresh variety. In fact it is Aloe Vera and Cucumber, both two ingredients ‘staple’ within various face and beauty products I reckon? Aloe Vera being a natural all round clever ingredient, renowned for many healing properties, and cucumber for putting on your eyes yeah?
After a long day at work, and often an hour in the gym afterwards, I certainly don’t ... ...however once I have used Vaseline Aloe Fresh after drying off, it does make a big difference. I find it cools the skin and stops it feeling so tight, which would be partly due to dehydration (from the air conditioned laboratory I work in) and from an intensive sweat-session down the gym on the cross trainers and other various machines!
Of course being semi-health conscious I do try to ensure I’m fully topped up with water throughout the day, but ...

Advantages: Light and fresh, non greasy formula Disadvantages: Bit pricy
...What's even better about this Vaseline lotion is that it makes the ideal body/face cream. I found that using it on my face improved the skin and because of the non greasy formula I could do so every morning and evening as part of my regular cleansing routine. It is especially good to use just before applying your make-up. The skin is left fresh and plump, perfect underneath foundation. I even stopped using powder as I found this was enough. It gave ...

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh body lotion by Lever Faberge.
This product has been a firm favourite in mine and my boyfriends bathroom repertoire for as long as we've been together. It contains extracts of Aloe Vera- reknowned for its skin healing properties since Roman times, and Cucumber known for refreshing and hydrating skin. The Bottle

Advantages: quick to absorb, nice smell, good moisturization Disadvantages: bit pricey
I was using the original Intensive Care bottle, when i tried a free sample of this new addition. Aloe vera and cucumber, just what you want for the summer (even though it's nearly over now). I really wanted a bottle of my own after I'd finished the sample packet. I think these creams are a bit on the pricey side, but I have really dry sensitive skin, and feel that I need moisturisers on a daily basis. This lotion goes cleanly into your skin in a ... ...layer of "dry" moisture on your skin after this, and it lasts. Your skin will feel cooled and refreshed for a while after application as well.
The smell of this lotion is really good, very light and natural and "green". It's great for the morning, or if you need a lift during the day.
I am a fan of Aloe Vera anyway, but i would recommend this product to anyone with dry and sensitive skin. A pleasure to use. ...

Advantages: Smells gorgeous, non-greasy, does the job of several other lotions Disadvantages: Smells good enough to eat, but tastes horrible... ;-)
...later when I saw that Vaseline were making a moisturiser with aloe vera and cucumber, I jumped at it and I've been buying it ever since. It's fantastic stuff!
It costs around £2.50 for a 200ml bottle (give or take 50p, depending on the shop) so it might seem a bit more expensive than some, but it really is worth the extra pennies. Vaseline describe it as an all over body lotion, an after-shave moisturiser, an after sun cream and "simply for times ... ...having two or three bottles of different lotions in your bathroom - this stuff will do it all! Also, unlike many lotions in these categories, it is not at all greasy and is absorbed into the skin very quickly. It looks creamy, but it feels almost watery - like squashed cucumbers! This makes it great for after a shower or a bath as you can get dressed straight away without getting any marks on your clothes. It's also really cooling and refreshing, ...

Advantages: cheap, pleasant smell Disadvantages: can leave marks if to much is applied
I know this will be my second op on an Anti Perspirant Deodorant, but I was pleasantly surprised with this after it was bought for me in place of my usual Sanex that I normally use.
I am talking about VASELINEINTENSIVECARE ANTI PERSPIRANT DEODORANT. (AloeFresh). It also comes in Active Fresh, and Fresh Balance.
I have used Vaseline products before but only in the form of creams and lotions, and to be honest I wasn't overly impressed by them. I soon transfered over to Dove products.
The price of this can was £1.49 for 150ml, (Sanex cost £1.99, so this was a little cheaper) this was from Tescos, and as this is a product I don't normally buy I cannot comment if other supermarkets stock this. The can is white, with a clear lid and is clearly labelled. (It also comes as a roll on deodorant, but not sure of the price in comparison ...
Advantages: Unobtrusive scent Disadvantages: Need to apply quite alot especially if you going to exercise
This is a value for money product that works well and is gentle on your skin. I prefer the new Aloe Vera deodorant as the other scents by VaselineIntensiveCare tended to be overpowering even the one named 'Natural Fresh'.
The aloe vera has a cooling affect when applied to skin and dries easily.
You still however get left with those white marks on your clothes. I haven't found a deodorant that doesn't do that yet.
This product has a large roller ball for easy application which does not leak.
The product is affective if you are doing nothing too active but if for example you are going to the gym then you will definetly have to re-apply it. You got to roll with it .........you got to take your time...... ...
Advantages: absorbs quickly, feels light but is actually intensive, price Disadvantages: None
realised that my skin wasn't in as good condition as I thought. Again it absorbed quickly and completely, no sticking to the sheets!
Four months on and I now wouldn't be without this product. I apply it every day, although I do not need as much as I used to because my skin has improved. The silky, soft feeling lasts all day, although if I am going out in the evening, I do put a bit more on my legs. The 200ml bottles last about three weeks if applied everyday and used carefully, but I am currently using a 400ml bottle from Asda which only cost £3.00. Tesco usually sell it for £4.18 but have it on offer 2 for £6.00. Bargain!
If this moisturiser isn't for you, or you need someting a bit more intense, Vaseline also make the following IntensiveCare lotions: AloeFresh, Derma Care (for problem skin). Feet & Legs, Firming & Nourishing ...
