We can all remember the flaky kid at school cant we? He was the one who was victimised by hordes of nasty spotty faced kids shouting cornflake at the top of their squeaky voices as the bedraggled soul as he crossed the schoolyard.

We also know that from time to time you wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, after a nightmare that you were the flaky kid! Fear not and sleep soundly in your land of slumber because there is hope for us all, and it wont cost an arm and a leg either.

The wonderful chemist types at Elida Faberge, after they have created loads of different shades of red for women spread all over their lips in an attempt to attract a member of the opposite sex (or perhaps even the same, who knows?), have come up with an answer.

Praise the Lord because ‘Vaseline Intensive Care’ is available and easier to get hold of than a drunken student during Fresher week! (Guess what week it is!?) Available in all chemists, Boots, Superdrug, etc, as well as most supermarkets it couldn’t be easier to buy, and at around £2 for a 200ml bottle it wont break the bank either.

The special Vaseline formula was developed by a crack group of Shetland Pony, scientists, who also cleverly added a multi-vitamin complex to help care for everyday dry skin. Vaseline say that it is to produce fast and long lasting relief, leaving the skin feel soft and smooth and looking healthy. All of which I cannot argue with, in fact it does exactly what it says on the bottle.

The lotion is easily absorbed and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy like some other moisturisers do. The glory of it all is top off by the fact that it can be used for all of the body! Wow!

The mild formula means that its safe for all ages ranging from little crawling toddlers right up to wrinkly old grannies, who will be transformed to a 27 year old stunner after three weeks of using the stuff. (Perhaps not but hey it’s worth a try after all) It can also be used after showering, and after shaving which I thought was very useful, because sometimes your manly skin can feel a bit rough when you’ve just dragged a piece of metal across it a couple of times.

The only thing I was a bit concerned about is that it does not display the usual ‘we do not test on animals’ logo that has become increasingly popular in recent years. I have to admit however I did not look for it when purchasing the lotion so I can’t see why I have this little voice telling me off in the back of my head.

Nether the less Vaseline intensive care, Dry skin and body lotion, with multi-vitamin complex, does the job very well, and has left my skin feeling very soft indeed. Perhaps a bit to soft, but hey who cares? It also has quite a pleasant aroma after application, but for the more conscious of you, it is obvious that you are using it because of the smell.

Any complaints, questions or comments (about the animal thing, or anything at all) can be made to, (UK) Consumer Bureau, Elida Faberge Ltd, Freepost, Admail 1000, London, SW1A 2XX. Or by the freephone number of 0800 591720.

I have no complaints with the product, so will not be writing to voice my opinion, one thing I noticed however was the lack of a web site. I know that Elida Faberge are an old company, with deep historic roots, but perhaps they should move with the times and add a web address to the existing forms of contact.

Anyway folks hope you enjoyed the read, and I’ll catch you again sometime soon, Will.

P.S. for any of you who were wondering, no I wasn’t the flaky kid at school, I unfortunately was one of the spotty oiks on occasion who poked fun at him, so if your reading mate, sorry cause it comes to us all in the end!
