Product Info
Palmers Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Lip Balm is a lipstick sized tube lip balm that contains Vitamin E and Cocoa butter (known for their moisturising properties) and hence smells of chocolate. It contains an SPF 15 sun protection, and the claim on the back of the packet is that is will help prevent and temporarily protect chafed, chapped, cracked or windburned lips. As it has the SPF it also gives protection against sunburn which is brilliant as you don't need to worry about a separate sun protection for your lips in the summer. The tube comes in a cardboard blister pack that can be found hanging from a shelf hook. I buy mine from Boots where it is £1.69 but I think you can also buy it in Superdrug.
The lip balm itself is a light yellow coloured solid block which comes in a cylindrical tube that contains 4g of the product. The lid pulls off easily and you twist the bottom of the tube to get the lip balm to move up to the top (like a lipstick). I prefer tubes to pots as you don't end up with sticky fingers and it is easier and quicker to apply the balm. Also you don't have to worry about it going up behind your nails if they are on the long side. The packaging is not at all girly so it shouldn't put men off using it, but I'm not sure if the fact it resembles a lipstick might stop them using it. To apply simple wipe across lips, very simple. It can be applied liberally as often as needed. The back of the packet states that is shouldn't be used on children under 6 months without asking a doctor first. Also it shouldn't be applied over deep or puncture wounds, infections or lacerations.
Results
The lip balm is not greasy or sticky and instantly your lips feel softer and moisturised, and it lasts for hours. I hate it when lip balms are sticky and your hair gets stuck to your lips, but that never happens with this one. The lip balm smells of chocolate but it is a lovely smell and not overpowering. It does not taste of anything which is a good thing so I am not tempted to immediately lick it off as I am with some flavoured lip balms.
I had found with some lip balms in the past that if I lick my lips after applying them a disgusting looking dry white coating appeared on my lips. This was not very attractive at all and I ended up rubbing it off with a tissue which made my lips dryer and sorer. I have never had this problem with Palmer's lip balm, and as the moisturising properties last a long time it also helps combat me licking my lips as they feel dry.
I have about 5 tubes of this wonderful stuff on the go at any one time. I have a tube in the car, one on my desk at work, one in my handbag, one on my bedside table and another in my makeup box. I am rather lazy and can't be bothered to go hunting for a tube, so having them dotted around solves this problem and there is always one to hand when needed.
I really like Palmers Cocoa Butter products, I also am addicted to their body lotion, and everyone I speak to about one of their products always raves about how brilliant they are. Palmer's products seem to be consistently good and well received by everyone. Also the lip balm is not tested on animals.
Summary
The best lip balm I have tried. Smells wonderful, lasts a long time, convenient sized tube so very portable, not flavoured and it really does moisturise your lips and prevents and relieve sore, cracked and chapped lips. Just simply wonderful, go buy it.

Review of Vaseline Palmers Moisturizing Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
The Palmers Range is becoming very well known lately. All their products contain Cocoa Butter, which has emollient properties so moisturises well, as well as having a sweet smell. I love their products and have found the ones I have tried have lived up to expectation. The product we are looking at is Palmers Moisturising Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.
Packaging
Like a lot of lip balms it comes in stick form. The packaging is white plastic with a little ... ...It's dainty so will fit in your bag, the cap is easy to remove and the twist bit is at the top rather than the bottom. It measures about 6 1/2 cm in length. The Product
Helps to prevent & protect chapped lips, cracked lips and lips stinging from wind burn. Contains Vitamin E
SPF 15 Contains 4g of product
Does it work?
My lips seem to dry out quite quickly lately so I need lip balm with me all the time, I did buy a different one but I lost it ...

I'm a lipbalm addict and have probably tried every brand and flavour available! I saw this on the shelf one day in Boots and thought 'Oh, I haven't tried this one!' and that was enough for me to buy it! It costs £1.69 for a 150z stick.
Looks: The lipbalm stick comes attached to a card. The card is light blue and white patterned and has Palmers written in an orange oval with Cocoa Butter Formula written ubder this in white inside a brown box. Then ... ...the top in a little blue box. The tube itself is white, and has the same as the card written on it. It has a pull-off lid and the standard twist up format that most lipbalms have. The lipbalm inside is a creamy colour.
How does it feel to use: So nice! It glides on really easily, and the lovely rich smell of Cocoa Butter wafts up from your lips and is just gorgeous! It may feel a little greasy, but that doesn't bother me. It deeply moisturises and ...

As I love the smell of cocoa butter I decided to buy this lip balm so I could taste it as well. It comes in a stick form and is available from Boots and Superdrug. The packaging is quite simple. It is a white plastic tube with a sticker wrapped around it. The front of the sticker has a blue background with the "Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula" logo on it
When I twisted the lip balm up I smelt it and it smells just like the other products in the range ... ...applied it to my lips and straight away they went from dry to moisturised. I found that I did not need to apply very much at all. One slick from corner to corner on top and bottom lips was enough. I rubbed my lips together and they felt very soft. I could also taste the cocoa butter. It tasted sweet and creamy.
One of the selling points of this lip balm is that it contains an spf of 15 so your lips are being protected from the harmful rays of the ...

I am another lipbalm addict, I cannot leave the house without one in my pocket and if I do I will litterally panic and compulsively lick my lips all day! It was on one of these days that I stumbled upon Palmers lip balm. I am a huge fan of their cocoa butter moisturisers and noticed their lipbalm so thought I'd try it out. To be honest I've never looked back. The lipbalm is richly moisturising and quickly repairs chapped lips, it has a silky texture ... ...single application will last for hours. It is very easily absorbed but retains a subtle gloss. It also smells gorgeous but doesn't have that 'Oh My God this tastes so good I must lick it off, damn now I have to reapply it' disadvantage. It really seems to taste of nothing at all.
The fact that it is SPF 15 is also a huge advantage as it is one less thing to think about, it effectively protects your lips which are incredibly (and disceptively) sensitive ...

Advantages: Lush smell, works really well, in a tube for easy application Disadvantages: runs out quickly in my case!
...Used to use vaseline all the time, but I much prefer this lip balm as it's in a tube, so it's easier and less messy to apply. The first thing you notice when you put it on is the smell: gorgeous! It's kinda vanilla-ey, unlike the Body Shop's version of cocoa butter lip balm which actually smells quite bitter, but this one is sweet and yummy! It also glides on very easily, and doesn't give you white lips like body shop's lip butters, and I like it ... ...Not only does it smell nice and look not too obvious but it actually works! I get chapped lips in the winter, but luckily I had this to save me; one slick and my lips were soft again. I guess I can't really complain because it is very cheap (only about £1.60 in superdrug), but I've worked my way through 3 tubes since christmas (it's end of march now), and I do find that sometimes the actual cylinder of lip balm (not the plastic tube) does break/crack ...
