I have had a 53 plate Deisel Astra for the first time. I bought it off a friend. The friend convinced me that it was a good car to run. Once I bought this car, I was surprised to get 500 miles out of a full tank deisel. WOW !!! Compared to my last Punto, this was amazing. Witha 5 door hatch back car, I experience a great deal of driving around. I can not afford to buy a new car. So went for a second hand Astra. With other cars -Ihave had - I was always worried and scared-that the car (old ones) could breakdown any minute as they did !! But with the Astra, I have now been enjoying the drive around, commuting, shopping, etc. It just keeps going. The oil and coolant last forever !!!!

    Can I assume from your opening line that you have never owned an Astra before, or a 53 plate before or even a diesel? I found that a little bit confusing!
