To be honest the first cavalier SRi I came across was an old G Reg faded red rusty £50 example but the car just wouldnt die. Whatever we tried to do to the car to kill it, it just kept on going.

Cavalier SRI Review ofVauxhall Cavalier SRi 2.0 saloon (1988 -1995)by
izzyshaw
Advantages: Good vauxhall quality, fast and reliable. Disadvantages: A tad ugly now
To be honest the first cavalier SRi I came across was an old G Reg faded red rusty £50 example but the car just wouldnt die. Whatever we tried to do to the car to kill it, it just kept on going. This was only the 2 litre 8 valve engine but since that car I have bought quite a few cavaliers because I find them brilliant cars.
The cavalier SRi's I have had have all been fanatstic performers right through the engine range (2.0 8v, 2.0 16v red top and ... ...models and I cant really complain. The car isnt let down anywhere, great fuel economy compared with its performance, comfortable recaro made seats, good handling for a big roomy car, and engines you just cant kill. In my opinion if you can find a 2.0 16v red top engined SRi with low mileage and clean bodywork, GET IT!!
So all in all to cut a long story short the cavalier SRi is a great car so get one. ...

I have had my sri now for nearly a year now after a golf gti. The first thing you notice is the low fuel consumption for a car with this sort of performance. In my experiance it has good handling for a car of this type and size. It can corner at speed with good control and low body roll and yet not throw the driver around aided by the excellent support of the seats. It also has a nice ride not being to bumpy when the road conditions get unsettled. ... ...with sunroof, alloy's, driving lamps, ABS, electric mirrors windows arial, central locking, alarm and immobiliser, catalitic converter, electric light adjustment and a good stereo. Problems i have had are the centrol locking can stick the arial's can break and the ecotec engine can coke up solved by a £10 oil breather box. Apart from that they are boringly reliable. Storage space is good as the boot is HUGE. Motor way journeys are easier the excels ...
