Advantages Advantages Looks, handling, low insurance, reliability

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does not suit larger families

Fun, cute, pretty, curvy and nippy - a Corsa sport summed-up in six words! Several more words are required however, if I am to do this lovely little car justice... INTRODUCTION I own a 'Sport' - it was purchased new in '97. Almost six years later, I am happy to say that the car is still going strong. I have written this op to share my ownership experience of this car and perhaps to pass on one or two tips to anyone considering buying an older Sport. EXTERIOR This model is a 3-door hatch back. It shares the curvy good looks common to all Corsas but also comes with all the usual things expected ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looking little Car and quite cheap to run

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fuel costs can be expensive if you tend to drive fast

I got my Corsa Sri in August 2001 from Reg Vardy in Leeds. I had a Ford Escort before that, an 1.4lx. It caught my eye on the Fore Court, and I went to have a look. I wanted a Corsa Sport 1.6 and didnt want a white car. Anyway this car was white and it really did look stunning, so I asked the Sales man for a look around, I loved it and bought it there and then for £4000. It was on an M reg 1995, which was one of the last ones that was made in that model. It was one owner from new, full service history and only had 42,000 miles on the clock. When I collected the car, it was there waiting for me ... more

Advantages Advantages There are lots of standard items, Sporty look, Quite powerful for a small car

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I am on my 3rd Corsa in 4 years. I wanted one newer and more powerful. The one i have got now is a Sport 1.4L 16V. I got it in September 2000 (brand new) and it cost me £12,000 with 2 years free insurance. This model is no longer made, the equivalent is the Corsa SRi. All the items i list come as standard on this model. It's got sports seats, which i find very comfy, a rear spoiler and sports exhaust. 3-spoke alloy wheels which have locking nuts for security. Other security features include an immobiliser, alarm and central deadlocking. It's got a sports suspension and there is a drivers ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks good, drives good

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive to maintain

Although the corsa is only a 1.4, it is quite a nippy car! With the lowered suspension and fat alloys my little beast looks fab, and drives just as well! Which is why I bought it. I can cruise down the motorways at 110mph and it handles corners so easiliy... With the bucket seats it not only looks good, but is comfy too. Sub-woofers in the side pannels and 6x9s in the parcel shelf and the stainless steel exhaust, you can hear me coming....! Although it is a dream car, there is no power steering and i now have muscles to contend with Hulk Hogan! It also drinks petrol, like theres's a shortage ... more

Advantages Advantages good value, size and engine for it's class

    Disadvantages Disadvantages poor demisting

We bought this 4 door model with power steering and the 1.4l engine because we had previously had a two door, 1.2l with no power steering. The difference was fantastic and really makes this a good littel family runaround (for a family of four). It's not so good on a long journey (unless you're in the car on your own) or if you have five people. I'ts also got a good boot space and especially with the back seats folded down. The only major drawback (which I've found in all Corsa's) is the demisting of the windows is very poor (ie you have to have the heater on even on a warm day, to get the ... more
