The Frontier Sport dti is the off road vehicle I had always wanted to own. A few months ago whilst driving passed Lookers Car Showroom I noticed this beautiful red Frontier Sport in the forecourt, advertised as car of the week. I was presently driving a Vauxhall Vectra hatchback dti. which was proving unsuitable for fitting my disabled mother's wheelchair in.,an absolute impossibility when you had shopping also. The back seats became a luggage carrier. I received an excellent part exchange deal with Lookers and totally recommend this dealer to anyone. I collected my Frontier the following week. The only downside I had about this car was it was only a two door model but I wasn't too concerned about this as most of the time I drive alone or with one other passenger so as far as I was concerned the back seats would be redundant most of the time.
The Frontier Sport dti was an absolute pleasure to drive especially because I enjoy driving a vehicle that is higher as it makes viewing ahead so much easier. The gears were very smooth and when I took it on the motorway I noticed that there was a footrest to the left of the clutch so you could rest your leg whilst driving on motorways. The driver and passenger mirrors were by far the largest and most clear mirrors that had interior controls to the right of the steering wheel so you could adjust them. The air conditioning was excellent as I used this on a daily basis due to the hot spell (if anyone remembers!) we had in the Summer. The glove compartment was not very big but a central armrest that lifted up and held all by CDs' made up for this. There were two useful cup rests also when you put the glove compartment down and also in the arm rest. The Frontier Sport dti was quite econimical to run and would have made the ideal car if you lived out of town and used the four wheel drive which I didn't really need although it did prove useful when we had days out in the country and apparently are very good in bad road conditions for prevention of skidding.
I realised though that this was not a suitable car for me because it was not practical for my needs.

The main reason I changed my Vectra was space in boot. This would have been vast if I had put the back seats down and drove it as a van but I found this quite awkward therfore although it had a door at the back which opened sideways the space was very limited and I still encountered problems with the wheelchair. The other problem became the two doors when I had to put shopping on back seats as I had with the Vectra I had to obviously pull a lever to bring the seat forward to gain access. It was still quite difficult to get into the back to put anything in. This comment includes passengers, everyone who travelled in the back found it difficult to get in and out and commented that there wasn't much space and anything in the boot that wasn't properly secured kept moving about making the journey uncomfortable for passengers. I also think that should anyone who is disabled and has difficulty walking to avoid buying this car as my mother falls into this category and found it practically impossible even getting in. This was due to the fact it was quite high, my mother is quite small but should the step that you can stand on to get into the car have been an bit wider she would have managed. When she did use the step once she also found it slippy.
All in all a great car apart from the couple of problems I personally encountered.
