If you've gotten board with all the technology there now is in fast cars then try the Vauxhall Monaro. This big bruit powered by its big 5.7 V8 is a back to basics mussel car. The Monaro comes from down-under and has a Chevrolet engine, this combination make it immensely fun.
Despite having such a BIG engine its power figures are quit modest, with only 350bhp, which is nothing compared to what the Germans are giving. The acceleration is that of a super-car. But unfortunately this isn't always easy to see because of the long gear ratios, which are to keep the noise down. Because of all the torque it gives out the effortless pulling strength that makes it so quick. The thrill of driving it comes from the noise of the V8 and your control of the car, rather then the speed. Even though it's quit a big car the Monaro is very agile, and if given a bit too much throttle through a corner the back end may slip away but because of the accurate steering it's easy to control. The clutch and gears are quite heavy for driving through town and in traffic.
Inside there is loads of space both in front and in the back. It comes with quite a lot of equipment as standard, leather seats, A/C, great stereo. The plastic and switches are a bit cheap though for a £30,000 car.
At the end of the day you will own a car that not many people that ever seen (or heard). It's a great car to drive, look at and listen to. If you're going to get one then go second hand as depreciation is quite steep.
