Advantages: Luxury Driving at Cheap Prices Disadvantages: Petrol Consumption
...Omega is the first ever Vauxhall I have owned, and it's authomatic, another first! Well worht the money make sure you get hold of a V6 if possible as this is the engine we have and it's just goes on forever, we have covered over 120k miles in the last 5 years and the car drives as new. Cheap to insure and a pleasure to drive, this is luxury at a very affordable price. Ideal for famililes, great for those long motorway journey's with cruise control ... Read review
Advantages: Strong, roomy, decent MPG overall Disadvantages: Depreciation, supposed electrical failures
...in the past with previous vauxhall and Opel cars, this has always been the case. All BMW's ive had all suffer from the "rot" disease with fabric covers, but cant fault GM for their seats, and this is no exception, in fact will probably outlast the bodywork! As mileage is in mid 70k's, I replaced cambelt and followers, but had been done (no history with it unfortunately) as a precaution, and brakes were spongy, so did discs, which sorted it - seemingly ......upwards. Tyres are an unusual size too, but can be had at around £50 fitted if you shop around for decent brand stuff. Stereo got replaced, as standard philips is woefully out of date even though it has a multiplayer in its own bit in the boot. Speaking of which - MASSIVE! The boot that is, which can be made bigger for long things dropping the rear armrest, presumably for skis or similar long tings, or drop the back seats and wider long things can ... Read review

This is my fourth Omega, and is my newest to date. It is a facelift model with the body coloured bumpers and side trims. Facelift Omegas, were fitted with bigger engines 2.2 rather than 2.0, 2.6 rather then 2.5 and 3.2 rather than 3.0, they are also drive by wire rather than having a throttle cable. The interior is different and some body panels are slightly different, this freshened the design to keep the car looking comtempary. My car is a 2.6 ......pretty lively, performance is not far off the older 3.0 models. The 2.6 engine is very smooth, definately smoother than the 4 cylinder models are the bigger V6s. The oil is supposed to be changed every 10,000 miles, but responds well to 5,000 mile intervals, cam belts and tensioners MUST be changed every 40,000 miles without fail, it is also recommended to change the water pump at the same time. This job is DIYable if you have the correct tools. ... Read review

I have owned one of these cars now since july 2007, and i have to say im impressed, i never really liked them Because i thought it wasnt going to "suit me" but its soo comfortable and the heated seats are soo good when u have a bad back! when i was 9 months pregnant it was sure bliss!! mine is a 1999 model and i its the second one iv driven and this is by far my best car iv even owned. it has a really good size boot and i can get the buggie in the ......since iv had the car there have been no troubles at all.Even with the MOT it was fine and i thought because of the year it would have few problem but there were none! i love the LCD display and the things you get with it like the Stop watch even though at first stop watched seamed Pointless it has come in very handy. I think even for a mum this is a brillant car! I dont see it as a "old mans car" anymore. The only thing i can fault is the dash, its ... Read review
Advantages: Roomy, massive boot, comfy, attractive Disadvantages: Vauxhall dealers, thirsty, residual values.
...bought a 2 year old Vauxhall Omega for cash. The car is a fairly basic spec - GLS - which means winder windows in the back, no sunroof or cruise control, but it does have air con, alloys and a CD player, and leccy windows in the front which were the basics I was after. It's also automatic which I reckon is pretty much a pre-requisite in a big car like this. And so, for £50 less than £8k I got a big, comfortable, nippy (2.5V6 and an auto box is ......a very pleasurable experience. Vauxhall dealers however let themselves down - they apparently are famous for it - and despite how friendly they are as people Vauxhall are getting it wrong somehow in the aftercare of their product. Whether it's the product or the corporate culture which isn't up to snuff, something is. And also by the way - they HAEMORRHAGE value - if you buy one new it'll be worth half the amount you pay one year later - not a good ... Read review
