Advantages Cute sporty roadster,
Disadvantages Only two seats
I owned my two seater Tigra convertible Sport for two years from new and never once had a problem with it. The only time I had to take it to the garage was when 54 Plates where recalled due to certain cars possibly having some sort of engine contamination. As it happens my car was not one of those afftected and we had many more happy hours together!
The mechanical two tone roof was simple to use and faultless and unlike other new convertibles the roof did not leak. The MP3 player which comes as standard on sports models worked a dream and the heated seats meant the roof came down at the first sign of sun. The wind breaker fitted as standard makes the Tigra a sound drive unlike other convertibles in its class.I parted with my car only due to the birth of my first child. Although the Tigra can be fitted with transponders which allow a Vauxhall approved child seat to be fitted, I found that the car felt too small and less spacious with the seat in place. On the otherhand with the roof up the boot compartment is relatively large and a full size silver cross pram stowed nicely!
I would recommend this car to anyone looking for an affordable convertible who has no family plans as of yet. However, beware as the depriciation of the car was high when I part exchanged it even with a full service history, low mileage, new tyres, heated seats and fitted transponders!
