Advantages: Spacious, comfortable, well equipped and economical. Disadvantages: Sounds like a diesel, accelerates like a diesel!
...Accord, Peugeot 307 and the Vauxhall Vectra. They all had good and bad points but I chose the Vectra as the one that suited me best. Because I like all the toys, I wanted the top of the range Elite and although they are not too common, I searched the Internet and found the car I eventually bought just 20 minutes away. A bit of haggling with the dealer and I drove away a 12 month old car with 20K on the clock for just over half its new price - bargain! ......thing, from start to finish took about 2 months, but I re-emphasise, don't rush in, make sure you look at and drive all the ones you would consider! When you have made your decision, search the internet and local papers and above all be patient, your car is out there if your prepared to wait. Buy a car in haste and your pocket will suffer!!!! So what's, good about the Vectra. Well its fantastically spacious and certainly feels like a big car. The ... Read review

...I gave it back. Vauxhall are very good at re-hashing all their old designs and making them look different but in the thirty years I have been driving a wide variety of cars they still have not improved basic comfort. Performance is decidedly average, there would be no need to worry about G force when accelerating hard. I found the brakes a bit spongy but they did the job. all in all I cannot recommend the vectra estate when there are so many better ... Read review
Advantages: Boot space, Safety features, Comfort Disadvantages: Engine output!
I've had my Vectra for 8 months. When looking around the garage it caught my eye as it comes with all the mod cons such as air con, CD/Radio (with steering column controls) and alloys all as standard. The manufacturer warranty was still intact so that was also grabbed my attention. Good points: - Huge boot, Loads of room, Adjustable steering column, Lumber support on drivers seat, ABS, ESP (Not sure if this was added extra!), CD/Radio, Driver/Front ......Bad points: - Extremely costly tyres, High servicing costs, expensive fuel bills, Slightly underpowered, Unable to see front or back of car when parking, ridiculous deprecation in value (Paid £10,995 now worth £6,000!) Verdict: - Recommended! The only downfall is the engine. I have had a drive of the diesel equivalents and the are definitely a better alternative. ... Read review
Advantages: Easy to drive, fast and comfortable Disadvantages: Expensive on diesel
After having a pretty old Renault Clio with no power steering for my first car, I was pretty nervous as a 19 yr old female to be getting a big 2.0 diesel estate car! However after having the car for a couple of months, I am so pleased I bought it! For the bargain price of £500 for an 'S' reg Vectra, the car is fantastic. It is an 2.0 Turbo diesel CDTI. With regards to handling, the car drives smoothly and reacts pretty well. For a big car, it picks ......got the car, it had done 144,000 miles and had 2 previous owners. Considering the mileage, it only had a few jobs come up to pass MOT, including brakes, steering pulling to the left. This and a few other jobs cost approx £150 from a mechanic we use regularly. Unfortunately I havnt had another service in the car, so couldnt give costs for that. A very reliable car, although a little expensive on diesel- approx £45 for a full tank. The interior of ...
