zafira
Advantages: bullet proof Disadvantages: boring dash
i have owned my vauxhall zafira , for five years and it has been incredible .It has now covered 240 000 miles as a taxi and has only let me down once , when the oil cooler went at 110 000 , 400 pounds to repair .I have just had a new starter motor 160 pounds fitted, and apart from routine servicing, thats it .Its still on the same clutch, wheel bearings and all suspension parts One small problem to look out for are the rear door check straps, the star ... ...years taxi driving .Well done vauxhall .
update 13 10 08 :
the zafira finally gave up at 285000 miles last xmas ,needed a new turbo or computer ,nobody seemed to know which ,but said either would be around £800 ,so we parted company!
i traded her in for a 03 mondeo tdci with 50'000 miles for £4999 and got £1500 for one rough running zaffy !
p.s
the only other problem i had with the zaf was new engine mounts at 260,000 cost around £200 all in ...

Versatile or Hair-Less Style!
Advantages: Comfortable & Stylish, Carries 7 people, Used Models Cheap and Plentiful. Disadvantages: Poor Engine reliability and Rear door defect issue
...I really like the Vauxhall brand, so it came as no suprise to people around me when I opted for a Vauxhall Zafira for my family car. I loved the styling and more to the point the roomy interior of a car that from the outside doesn't look as overbearingly huge as some of the other MPV's (Multi Purpose Vechicles) that are around.
I have 3 children, so a roomy interior, with good seating and good boot space is a major priority for our household. Thats ... ...anyone who has driven a Vauxhall before, or not will find the dash board easy to navigate. No over the top or hidden, knobs and switches to be found. Might be too plain though for the regular gadget geek :)
Not everything is great with the Vauxhall Zafira though! There are plenty of problems abound. The biggest question has to be engine reliablity. Unless your car is regularly serviced, a lovely little spanner stays lit all the time, and the word ...

Advantages: spacious and 7 seats are conveniant so more can travel good air condtioning quite reliable Disadvantages: A pillars access to back seats
Have had two of them this ones better than previous one. DESIGN Very well designed good looking car, smart interior, fantastic storage and really good for wheel chair users. It has a high driving seat position ideal for people with back problems It also has a cd/radio player, front passenger tray for storage underneath the seat. Front and rear pockets and holders for drinks emergency break and electrically adjustable door mirrors. COMFORT Generally ... ...be better. The only downside is that to access the back two seats you have to move the entire center seats forward. It has good air conditioning with a activation light great for when your too warm. ROAD HANDLING Easy to control smooth steering is very easy good cornering and road holding and quiet engine SAFETY Good safety locks at side doors and no rear electric windows which is safer if you have children. It has a ABS however it has very prominent ...

Great Family Car
Advantages: Does not feel or look like a big car - but can seat 7!! Disadvantages: small boot space when all seats are up
I love my Zafira - it fits all my children in and as I only have 4 (all under the age of 6) I do not need to put all the seats up - I can leave one down at the back and therefore can fit the buggy and shopping in. However if we have friends visiting and need all seats then it is a squeeze for the buggy and forget the shopping. Advantages:
1. Very Comfortable to drive
2. We fit 2 baby seats and 1booster all beside each other.
3. Does not look very ... ...4. When all the seats are down you have ample room to move huge boxes etc. (I was able to move the furniture for a playgroup)
Challenges:
1. The leg room at the very back is very limited and I would only recommend putting small children in. 2. When all seats are up - you have a very small boot (I find it very difficult to fit the buggy in).
3. If you have car seats in the middle row - they need to be removed before you can put up/down the rear ...

Great Car.
Advantages: Seating, Price, Disadvantages: Running Costs are a little high
Wasn’t I surprised when we bought this car! I don’t like Vauxhalls (no offence) I drive a merc, previously a bmw. However I needed a 7 seater which when not in use, we could still retain a large boot. Unlike most other MPV’s the seats fold flat into the floor.
They make a great used buy, we bought the 2.2 club automatic. The gearbox struggles at times when you’re giving it the beans only being a 4 speed automatic (come on Vauxhall!!). Still, very ...
