The advantage over the Galaxy,sharan,alhambra clones are the use of the extra two seats. I have owned the Alhambra and found that when you needed the extra two seats you had to either leave them in folded. This cut down your available load space, or put the very heavy seats in every time. With the zafira the rear two seats fold into the ... ...one handed job to prepare the vehicle for " bus mode".
If you need to carry that awkward load on a Saturday for that inevitable DIY job the Zafira comes to the rescue. Just fold up the rear bench seat and slide the rear seat towards the front seats, and there you have it a van.
The only problem I have found with the 1.6 is I feel it is a little underpowered for the vehicle. Don't get me wrong this engine will get you up to licence points speeds, ...

Advantages: Seven seats at the pull of a handle. Disadvantages: Everyone wants you to drive as you can get almost two car load in a zafira.
What can i say a special edition model loaded with extras including air conditioning, roof bars, alloy wheels, electric front windows, tinted rear glass,electric mirrors. Room for the whole family and then some more. This car drives itself the air conditioning is excellent and a must with a car full of people, it's a car that doesnt know if its a van, a minibus or a family car. Most new cars lose value as soon as you drive off the forecourt, but ... ...card and redeeming them towards £s 0ff the price of a brand new vauxhall. I purchased mine using GM points and got a brand new Zafira for less than the price of a used one on the same forecourt. Can't wait for the kids to ask for a lift its a pleasure to drive with the added confidence that all seven seats have three point seat belts no worrying over which one of the three children have to sit in the rear lap belt.
