Veet advise you to stand in an empty shower or bath but what I do, is to stand on a large old bath sheet / towel which covers the carpet area so that I'm not literally stuck, standing in a bath for 8 minutes! I know that 8 minutes doesn't sound long but when you are forced to stand in a confined area for that length of time it does seem like a long time.

The title may well suggest that I am part of a rare breed of females who has a hairy back, I don't but I will get on to the relevance of the title towards the end of the review.

Use in an empty bath or shower
Hold 10 cms away and spray the mousse evenly over dry skin
Leave for 8 minutes then test, then leave for a further 2 minutes if hair removal hasn't taken place.
Use the sponge that is in the top of the lid to remove the mousse and hopefully the hair under lukewarm water.

As of July 2006 this was 4.79 from Boots
- My experience -
This is quite messy and the mousse (which looks a bit like shaving foam) does tend to drip off some areas or squirt in different directions. There is often a 'build up' of mousse at the end of the nozzle which I found I had to keep wiping away before continuing with the next section.
I don't have very hairy legs but was very disappointed with the results; some areas were left very smooth whereas others were still a bit on the bristly side. Perhaps I didn't use it on long enough hairs although they don't state a recommended hair length for greater effectiveness which I know is often the case with waxing.
The mousse does smell so I would advise you to open a window but I have to say that since the days of Immac, the smell isn't quite as over powering.
The supplied sponge isn't great either, it tends to get very claggy so what I use is an old drink spatula which although slightly harsher on the skin tends to apply the necessary pressure to remove those stubborn hairs!
The plus point of the can is that the spray function works when the can is held both upright and upside down enabling you to get to any awkward and hard to reach places, especially the backs of your legs.
- Hairy backs -
Being disappointed with this on my legs, it sat in my cupboard for a couple of weeks until a male friend of mine wanted his 'monster-like' back doing. Not one for salons and waxing I was the best option to remove the unsightly hair!
Out came the mousse and it really did work. Perhaps this is because the hair was so much longer than the stubble I had on my legs. After about 5 minutes you could actually see the hairs beginning to change, looking very wavy and frazzled as if he had got too close to an open flame.
We left it on for the full 10 minutes, scraped it off with the spatula which I have to say was a very messy job and rinsed the back to give an extremely smooth, hair-free finish.
His back was slightly red but we dolloped some E45 on it and a day later I text him to see if he was a bit itchy and it was a resounding no.
Although Veet advise that this mousse should only be used on legs this really did work on the back area. I'm sure sometimes they say that it can't be used on different areas in order for you to buy different products for different areas of the body. I wouldn't however use it on more sensitive areas!!
Apologies to anyone who didn't want to know about the hairy back but I thought I would give readers an idea of where this mousse actually does work.- Precautions -
Don't use on broken or irritable skin
Don't use on skin that has been shaved in the last 72 hours
Test the product on a small area first ( I never do this, maybe I should!)
May damage or discolour materials And the general info about not ingesting it or getting it in to your eyes!
- My verdict -As the title suggests this really doesn't work that well on legs but is great for hairy backs. I certainly won't be using it again on my legs, would much rather have a quick 30 second whizz round with the razor but the remainder of the can is still in the cupboard for the next time I have the arduous task of hair removal from a back!
To choose whether or not to recommend this to buyers was a tricky one but I have opted for 'No' since this is intended for legs and didn't work well at all.
Advantages: erm......... Disadvantages: where do I start?
I recently spotted Veet Hair Removal Mousse in our local pound shop, and snapped one up, as a few hours earlier I had been looking at it in Superdrug where it costs a whopping £4.99. I usually shave my legs or use cold wax strips, and had only tried hair removal cream once. I had used Boots own brand, and it wasn't very good, but I had put that down to the fact it was an own brand product. I expected that Veet (formerly Immac) would be better as ... ...hair removal products.
What is it?
This is a mousse, which, when applied to legs, dissolves the hair away so there is no need to shave or wax. It comes in a 189g can, and includes a little sponge to remove the mousse with. It contains Aloe Vera and vitamin E, which are intended to leave the skin smooth and moisturised.
Packaging
As you can see from the picture, this comes in a can, similar in appearance to a can of shaving foam, and has a plastic ...

...when I found out about Veet Hair removal mousse. It's so easy and quick to use and most importantly it's…**PAIN FREE**
*Advantages and disadvantages*
This product is very easy and quick to use, one of its advantages. Another advantage is that it removes hair quickly without any pain. Its shape is convenient and the way it is sprayed on is trouble-free. It is sprayed exactly like how you would spray a perfume but instead all that's coming out is ... ...like a perfume and not like how mousse hair comes out (if you get what I'm trying to say) This product may have many advantages but it also has its disadvantages, like mostly all other products. One of its disadvantages is that when spraying it on skin, although correct that it is easy and quick but it is very difficult to recognize whether you are putting too much or too little amount of mousse on skin. Too little means you have to carry on spraying ...

, they then said they didnt know why i had that reaction to it. So much for a HELPline!!! I dont actually have that sensitive skin, so its a mystery.
Basically, it stung my legs, it didnt remove the hair, it scratched my legs, it left big red marks and it was really messy and smelled horrible. I wont be buying veet again. ...
Advantages: Less mess, easy to apply Disadvantages: ££; Be vigorous, or end up with stubble
Warning, there is far too much personal information in this opinion!
Needing a hairremoval product for my legs, or an urgent need for a leg wax, I found myself in Boots in Princes St, Edinburgh perusing their ?HairRemoval? counter.
I eventually selected upon ?Immac (soon to be called Veet)" HairRemovalMousse, Fresh Citrus Sensation and Vitamin C. My selection was based primarily on price, given that the alternative Immac (soon to be called Veet ? Just When Exactly!!!) product I had been using was over £1 dearer. I paid £4.99 for my 200ml spray mousse can.
It was only on the way home, when I remembered that I had read opinions which were none too positive about the spray on mousse product. Far too late to do anything about it, I thought, so here goes, anyway.

Having used a different product for the last few months I was most disappointed not to find it on the shelf of my local cheepo shop for several weeks.
With a hair growth on my legs assuming a gorilla in the mist I desperately needed a fix of hairlessness very quick.
So I opted for Veet (HairRemovalMousse) which was the nearest think to what I had been happy with before. Hey why not give it a go.
