Advantages: Portable and light Disadvantages: Buzzing on sound
...The controls are simple and easy to operate. There is an AM/FM radio with stereo and a CD player. The Venturer looks good. But, looks can be deceptive.
The Venturer has a built in aerial, which does away with the telescopic aerial favoured by most other radios. In theory. For sadly the lack of a real aerial also does away with any meaningful stereo reception, unless, perhaps, your house is very close to a transmitter.
For if you are in an area of marginal signal strength you will have great difficulty with VHF/FM reception.
The CD player is good and easy to operate. However, the problem is that there is a persistent and very annoying loud buzzing noise either through the built-in stereo loudspeakers or through the headphones.
In short, I fear that I can't recommend the Venturer for listening to classical music, for example...

Advantages: Detachable CD Player Disadvantages: Blue Light!
...The Venturer DMS 8770 is a handy, quite slim, useful little stereo system. The design is simple enough, two speakers on the sides then a detachable cd compartment that can be removed and used as a CD walkman. Underneath that is the controls and a lit up clock.
I must admit this took me a while to get the hang of, I couldn't get it to play CDs and I couldn't get it to work as an alarm clock so I just had it there as an expensive clock. After a while of playing around it became more simple. Basically the standby button is the key to most things. Pretty stupid of me not to realise that I needed to turn the thing on first I know but it's me!
Well firstly the CD player is good enough, I have had a couple of problems with it and only one speaker working occasionally but that may well be to damaged caused by me. As it can be used...
