Advantages: great software with it easy to understand navigation
Disadvantages: not as detailed as a tom tom

...i have got a venturer sat nav system and they are ok tom tom is the better version but for the cheaper option this is second best. it has voice controlled navigation and if you miss a turn in the road it will re calculate the route and redirect you. for the price you cant go wrong with the venturer sat nav but if you wasnt bothered about the money then i would go with tom tom. the shape and colour of this navigation unit is quite good it isnt too large and bulky but the battery life is what lets it down hence the cheaper price i use mine plugged into the ciggarette lighter plug in my car and i have no problems.... Advantages: Portable and light
Disadvantages: Buzzing on sound

...The controls are simple and easy to operate. There is an AM/FM radio with stereo and a CD player. The Venturer looks good. But, looks can be deceptive. The Venturer has a built in aerial, which does away with the telescopic aerial favoured by most other radios. In theory. For sadly the lack of a real aerial also does away with any meaningful stereo reception, unless, perhaps, your house is very close to a transmitter. For if you are in an area of marginal signal strength you will have great difficulty with VHF/FM reception. The CD player is good and easy to operate. However, the problem is that there is a persistent and very annoying loud buzzing noise either through the built-in stereo loudspeakers or through the headphones. In short, I fear that I can't recommend the Venturer for listening to classical music, for example... Read review

Disadvantages: takes a while for picture to come on when switched on

...Excellent. I paid £149.99 at argos after having to return a venturer lcd tv to tesco. I plugged it in and switched on and within 30 seconds it had tuned itself in and we were able to work it through the sky remote - which we had'nt been able to do with the venturer. I have never come across a tv that was so simple to use. It is my daughters, aged 9, and she is over the moon. Its extremely light and was easy to put on a wall bracket by myself. The box it came in was half the size of the venturer, but it was still secure without all the unneccessary packaging. The picture is perfect and the stereo sound quality superb. The remote is a decent size which I prefer as its easier to find when the children lose it. Even though digital is'nt coming to my area until 2012 I decided, for the little extra, it was worth it....
