Advantages: Great For Travel, Disadvantages: Lots of Parts
...My review is on the same dvd player just it is a different model, the difference is it's scree is 6.2" not 6 and a half.
The VenturerPVS17200 (im reviewing a different model but they look the same) is a great little dvd player for the car or any means of travel. I myself have watch alot of films on it using the power mains cable included in the box when you buy it. This is a great present for the kids if you travel alot and want to keep them occupied.
It Even comes with a remote control and a battery

Advantages: Excellent value for money! Disadvantages: Bulky external battery!
...of the price scale, at about £200 plus. I was about to give it up as a bad job, when I discovered the VenturerPVS1712 (purely by accident) at our local Toys R Us store.
As it was on display (working) I got to have a play with it and I was immediately impressed.
The first thing that strikes you when looking at the Venturer is how eye catching it is! Finished in a nice shiny silver, with a matching credit card sized remote, it certainly looks the part.
Add a nice large wide screen and inbuilt stereo speakers (set on each side of the screen) and the image is complete.
I had looked at similar models to this on my quest and they had all been priced at around £200. So when I looked at the price tag and it said £129.99, I knew I had found what I was looking for!

Advantages: very easy to use Disadvantages: it dosent play DVD R
...I got the VenturerPVS12620 for christmas, and i must say i am very impressed. It is very easy to use for both grown ups and children. Battery life is good, you get time enough to watch a 2 hour film. The DVD player is light and dosent take up much room in a bag. Very handy for trips and travelling. It supports Jpeg files which makes it possible to look at your picture discs aswell. The only disadvantage is that it dosent play DVD R's which can be annoying for anybody recording from TV in that format.
I would recommend this DVD player to any family with children. However do keep in mind that it dosent play DVD R's....
