Advantages: Excellent Thermal Stability, Excellent Quality Disadvantages: You pay slightly more, but it's worth it.
...I've had a DVD writer since June 2004. In that time i have tried many different companies making DVD media, and for me, and the LG DVD writer i use ( i now have three of them) Verbatim make the most stable media i have come across.
I have tried the following brands:
Memorex
Datasafe
Datawrite
Imation
Infiniti
Ritek
Ridata
Panasonic
TDK and
Sony
Some of these were adequate, some were good, and some were downright a waste of money (Datasafe). But i have found the most stable media to be Verbatim, and that's all i will now use for DVD media.
I use them in both my computers DVD-writer and my panasonic set top box DVD recorder. My Recorder is particularly fussy, and i have lost a few films and programs in the last couple of years due to dodgy discs.
I recently worked out that i have burnt over 800 discs over the last 2.5 years (got my...

Advantages: Very Cheap, Second best to Verbatim and cheaper than Verbatim Disadvantages: Dont come in 100packs
...I purchased these as the cost was very low, a couple of years ago and i was not dissapointed, the media is very good and compared to Verbatim, my personal opinion is that it is better than VerbatimDVD-R. For a Pack of 25 it costs £3.50, which is very cheap considering the dye that this used in the disc is made by Mitsubishi, which i presume is a little expensive. Also the pack says it will burn at 8x, my DVD Burner can burn data at 12x with these discs, so you get a little extra for what you have paid for. Although one disadvantage is that i wanted 200discs, so i had to purchase 8 25Packs which was little annoying, it would have been better if i could have purchased 2 100Packs, would have been a lot easier. All round for the cost of this blank media it is worth every penny....
