I’m not really an expensive perfume kind of girl; at least I didn’t used to be! For many years all I used was something fruity from either the Body Shop or something from the Boots natural collection, shunning the designer perfume counter, considering it an absolute waste of money. On trips across the channel in the days when ‘duty frees’ abounded, I could never quite understand the mentality of female friends who queued up at the perfume counter to get their allotted allowance of such smellies? Huh,wassit all about? Why? Didn’t they all smell the same, heady and sweet? And at such over inflated prices, not for me, no fear, give me good old cheap body sprays any day. Oh god how this worm has turned!!!
It all started with a copy of one of those advert filled glossy women’s mags that I picked up from work one day and whilst flicking through it at home that evening I came across a page with an advert for Sensi perfume, along with a very small sample. Not the sort of sample that you have to lift the flap and sniff but a small square with an impregnated bit of cloth under it with said perfume soaked into it. I peeled, I sniffed, I rubbed it over my wrist, I waited a while (I might be a perfume ignoramus but I did know to leave it to ‘settle’ for a while!!) and then sniffed again……..I was hooked! The next payday saw me at a up market department store in town parting with £40 hard earned pounds for a 100ml bottle of the stuff, without so much as a flicker of an eyelid not the slightest hesitation or reluctance of the hand that passed over the cash!!
I wore this almost daily for the next few weeks and revelled in the sense of ‘niceness’ it gave me…..girls will know EXACTLY what I mean by ‘niceness’!! Now that I had been initiated into the wonderful world of perfumes I decided to investigate further to see what else tickled my senses. Despite scouring many other mags in the same genre as the one I found Sensi in, I was unable to discover anything I even remotely liked as much so I decided to log onto to our dear ol’ Ciao and see if there was anything highly recommended that I might like. I knew what kind of perfume I liked, not too heady, definitely nothing patchouli based, and avoiding too much in the way of musky stuff. It was initially the picture of the Red Jeans eau de toilette container that had me investigating further. I read several ops on this and came away with the slightest idea that I might actually like this and made a mental note to have a sniff of it the next time I saw it for sale.
I did the very thing the next time I was in Tescos, sprayed some on my wrist, had a quick sniff and exclaimed, “Oh that’s fruity!” luckily the assistant had handed me the bottle and I wasn’t to be heard talking to a rack of other perfumes!!! I told her I would think about it and went away sniffing merrily at my wrist, I got as far as the delicatessen counter, less than two aisles away, before I turned my trolley around and went back to buy it!! £15 for a lovely red tin containing a gorgeous bottle of 75ml’s of eau de toilette.
It’s really really nice, even if you are not into perfumes give this a go it is delightful! I am not too confident about how to describe the smell to you, after all perfumes are a very personal thing, and what someone might describe as evocative, heady and deeply empowering might smell like cats pee and be anything but the other descriptions to someone else! What I can tell you about this perfume though is that it is indeed fruity, it contains freesia (oddly enough my Mum’s fave ever flower….), lily (my Nan’s name and her fave flower) and red currant (nope, I don’t know anyone by that name!!) and that is the overwhelming scent you can smell, I think! It isn’t too floral though, you’d think it would be by those ingredients wouldn’t you? But it’s a mix of floral and fruit, nice!! Not at all heavy and I would have to agree wholeheartedly with most of the others who have written an opinion on this, it is a summer scent.
The bottle is contained within the lovely red tin, protected by corrugated card. It looks like a miniature drink bottle with raised glass patterns in it and a little red top, which incidentally fits quite tight so it is less likely to leak in your handbag. I would actually advise against keeping it on your handbag though, especially if you have a rucksack like me, cos if you accidentally sit on your bag, the lid on the tin never quite fits the same again!! But, it is advisable to keep perfumes in the cool and a darkish place. The tin makes a very nice addition to your dressing table!
It is pump action application. As it is an eau de toilet, it does not linger. I was a bit disappointed when I first used this as I noticed that I was having to apply it more than my Sensi to retain the smell, till I realised the difference, Sensi is eau de parfum, this is toilette, so much diluted. I am learning about such things fast!! Inside the tin you get a little fold up leaflet advertising all the other Versace perfumes along the same lines, there is Blue Jeans to go with the red ones, Blue having mixtures of citrus, lavender and cedarwood (mmm might have to try this one next!) then you have white, black, yellow, green, baby rose. baby blue!! Gosh I never knew jeans came in such an assortment of colours!! Each one describes the particular aromas and if you want to know a particular one leave me a message and I will relate it to you, won’t bore all of you with all of it here!!
As well as the Jeans varieties Gianni Verace also advertises Vis Versace, The Dreamer, Blonde, Donna, V’E Versace, Versace L’Homme and Gianni Versaci, on this little label, gosh talk about choice!! I would like to sniff the Yellow Jeans one of these days with its white peach, yellow freesia and mimosa!! I can see me becoming a regular at my local perfume counter!! But for now I am sticking with the Red Jeans.
It is fun, fruity, and just a little funky and as the description on the insert label says, ‘Bubbly, fun.......made for me then!!
Nuff said!!

Advantages: Smells Nice, Lasts A Long Time and Good Price Disadvantages: None
I wear many perfumes, but Versace Red Jeans is the one that I'm 'known' for wearing. I have Burberrys, Far Away, Wink, Charlie Red and Glow.
I wear perfume everyday; it's like a habit to put it on when I'm dressed in the morning. When I was at school, I'd wear a different one everyday, and because you wear your jumper for 5 days, it used to smell of loads of different perfumes by the end of the week. If I put on Far Away, my friends would say, 'that's ... ...together. From this collaboration, Versace became a world famous designer.
His first major designs were the stage costumes which he designed for Elton John. After the stage costume designs for Elton, Versace went bigger and had an empire worth over 807 million dollars.
Many more design came along, and Versace had his very own photograph models and runway models which included Prince, Madonna, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and many more.

Advantages: Lovely, light, fresh Disadvantages: A bit pricey
...7.5ml. It also says ‘Gianni Versace Profumi, Made in Italy’ on the back. On the bottom of the tin, the US distributor is cited along with address and contents of the bottle, which is mainly made up of alcohol, fragrance and water. The can has a picture of a woman wearing red jeans and a red denim jacket, and also shows a belt and denim pocket on it to remind it that this is a ‘Red Jeans’ product. The tin lid shows a lion’s ... ...type of perfume, but obviously Versace are trying to market it for smart casual use. I think I can accept this.
As with all Eau de Toilettes, you will need to top it up a couple of times throughout the evening.
Availability
It can be bought at Debenhams for £21.99 although some places are doing special offers on it and samples have been given away with clothing.
Summary
I personally get fed up with all these perfume companies trying to think ...

Fruity fragrance Review ofVersace Red Jeans Eau De Toilette Sprayby

Advantages: Light smell, good price, nicely designed bottle & tin Disadvantages: Fragrance doesn't stay all day
Versace do a lovely series of fragrances. Red jeans (RRP about £23) is a lovely, light fragrance that is perfect for everyday use and for young women. A lot of perfumes are very heavy and better for evening wear. This perfume does not have that problem. It's perfect for teenagers and young women who want a fragrance that is truly suitable.
The bottle is beautifully designed - glass with a plastic red top, which doesn't stay put very well but looks ... ...you are like me and don't get through perfume very quickly and need to keep it sealed and in the shade to help avoid evapouration. Incidentally, I use this perfume almost everyday and have been using the same bottle for the last 18months or so.
The perfume is slightly pink in colour. If you are wearing white clothes, don't be tempted to spray in on after you are dressed, it does wash out though.
For evening wear, try Versace's White jeans, but ...

Advantages: cute bottle, unique smell, great value Disadvantages: none
I bought this perfume after I was given a sample of it and I absolutely love it. It is definitely oner of my favourite perfumes.
The perfume itself has a really distinct and unique smell but it is absolutely gorgeous. You stand out from the crowd, but for good reasons!
Also I think that this perfume is excellent value for money. it isn't expensive to buy at all, the price tends to vary wherever you go but you can definitely pick up a bottle of ... ...a fragrance of this quality. The packaging is also really attractive and instead of just being in a box, the purfume bottle is sold in a gorgeous Oriental style tin.
This perfume is great for wearing at any occasion and I think is definitely 'el scento de amor'. You will definitely be noticed if you wear it!
I would reccomend it to anyone who is looking for a perfume that is slightly different and wants to stand out from the crowd. Definitely don't ...

...quite different from the other versace fragrances with its sweet but warm smell (unlike other perfumes in the range which tend to be strong and powerful smelling!)Also I have found you get bargains when buying this perfume, because the price is reduced in many places e.g.Asda.
