While looking online for clothes for my son, I came across _Verbaudet_, which is a French mail order site. I was first attracted to it by the offers and discounts offered to first time customers.

Home collection they have some really nice storage solutions from toy boxes to lovely little decorated storage suitcases and book cases. Curtains, blinds and rugs, and a very small selection of toys. You can also find some unique tables and chairs for a little ones bedroom.
They quite often have a sale section where you can find some great bargains.
Being a first time customer they always offer some kind of discount on your first order like a generous £10 off. Each time I have ordered anything I have received discount vouchers with my order to use next time, and promotional codes for free delivery and a free toy on your next order, so you will always be tempted to shop again. I have had quite a few free toys from them and have been delighted with what we have had from shape sorters to music players.
In the home collection you can find toys, furniture such as toy boxes and storage solutions, bathroom accessories, sleeping bags which are great quality, rugs, tables and chairs amongst other nursery accessories.
The clothes are different from what you will find in high street stores; they are quite funky and trendy. After shopping around baby shops and finding the choices and colours quite bland and boring, I found the clothes on here to be fresh and funky with bright bold vivid colours that are very stylish. They offer a good choice from newborn right up to teens. Their prices are reasonable, and they also have a selection of mini price clothes which offer very good value if you are on a tight budget without comprising quality.
I have ordered from this site a few times, and have been very happy with the clothes that I have received from them, they have been very good quality and they wash up well. However I have found their sizes to be quite small, when I placed my first order my son was 11 months old he is quite tall so I usually buy a bigger size, I had heard that Vertbaudet clothes are a bit on the small size and seeing that my son didn’t need anything immediately I bought a pair of dungarees and opted to get the size for a 2 year old and much to my surprise they actually fitted him!. So I would advise buying the next size up to ensure they will fit.
On my first order I got a discount being a first time customer, and when my order arrived it came with a catalogue along with promotional money off codes for my next order. They seem to send out these promotional codes quite frequently some which give you a free toy, I have ordered several items from them and have never had to pay full price for anything yet, and I have also received a free gift with my last purchase which was a toy shape sorter which was rather nice and my son has enjoyed playing with it. It is quite good considering it was a free gift.
I really like the range of children's clothes they do, and my son has had a lot of wear out of the clothes and they have been very good quality. Once you are signed up with them it makes it very easy to place an order, and it is very tempting to want to keep going back to buy more with the promotional codes that are given with each order.
They claim that their delivery is between 5 – 10 days, and returns are free which is good as their sizing is a little different. The delivery charge is £3.99– although I have never paid for delivery as I have always had a discount code.
This online shop sounds good so far, but the only problem is the delivery is awful! I was very disappointed with this part of the service; I was expecting it to be better. The items I ordered showed to be in stock on the website so I expected them to be with me within the week.
However I was waiting for well over two weeks for my order, and when it arrived I was not home, I found a card in my letterbox saying that it was in my bin! I was not too pleased about this; I didn't think this was very hygienic to have to go through my bin to look for new clothes that I had bought for my son. I also found this to be unprofessional. If anyone had taken the items from my bin, then I would have had no proof that I didn't receive the items. (My garden is not enclosed and sometimes the bin men will collect my bin from my garden to empty it, if I haven't put it out for collection, so I was lucky it didn't get taken with the bin men!)
Also they deliver at unusual times; they have brought things later in the evening at around 8pm which I thought was rather odd.
This is a shame that the delivery is a bit of a let down, because everything else I have been happy with. This does put me off a bit, because sometimes if I'm looking for a new outfit for my son it could be for a special occasion and I wouldn't want to order from them in fear that it wouldn't be here in time.
I have still continued to order from them, from time to time, but instead of having the items delivered to my home address I now have them delivered to my partner's work address to reduce the risk of another bin incident occurring.
I would recommend the site to anyone looking for something a bit different, just bare in mind that you could have a while to wait for delivery.

This is the top of the range collection for boys and girls from 2 to 12 years old. These are clothes for smarter days and provide a twist on the traditional pinafore dresses, trousers and jumpers. Prices are about £20 plus for a dress, or £15 for boys trousers. ... ...daughter to wear at a wedding, it was very well made and even came with a piece of the fabric to make a matching accessory with. She has now outgrown it and it has been passed on to her younger cousin as it is still in excellent condition despite being worn to lots of parties. O' Kids... Vertbaudet is a French catalogue containing fashions for tinies through to teens. As well as clothing the catalogue contains a maternity range and a home furnishings range.

This section ranges from premature/newborn to infants of 3 years old. The babywear section includes sportswear, nightwear and underwear and small price essentials.
[Small price essentials can be found in most age ranges and ... ...have been purchasing from the Vertbaudet catalogue for almost 8 years now and have found all the clothing to be of a very high standard. The childrens clothes are always highly fashionable and also more unusual than you would find in your normal high street store. I like to feel that I am buying something that won't be seen on every child in the area.
The sizing of clothes used to be listed in centimetres (as the French use) which was confusing. ...

Firstly, Vertbaudet have two catalogues and I am basing this review on their Autumn/Winter collections for 2004. The main one being 218 pages has four sections: maternity wears and nursery equipment; baby wear (premature – 3 years); 2-12 years and 2-16 years. It has a very handy size guide at the back of the catalogue including a valuable shoe size chart. The second catalogue is much thinner, being just 43 pages, and contains décor, ... ...you will receive both. I’ve personally found this company to be a perfect complement to La Redoute (and suspect they are run by the same company) as they offer similar French styles but slightly better quality with designer labels. In fact after I wrote my La Redoute review, many people suggested I looked at Vertbaudet.

Vertbaudet is one such catalogue (and online store - www.vertbaudet.co.uk). It is crammed full of various children's clothing and maternity wear. The children's wear goes up to 14 years (16 for sportswear). They also have a seperate "home" catalogue, with toys, nursery items etc - I have looked and dreamed, but not ordered from the Home one.
There are a range of options, from modern clothes, to classy french designs ... ...up, increasing my bill as Vertbaudet are a lovely company who increase the price as the size goes up - Why not have one middle price??? What extra they'd make on the smaller sizes, would cover the loss on the larger ones!
After a few more deliveries, the right size dresses etc, my first bill arrived... Something wasn't right... My discount was missing!!! Only the sale item was reduced. So, I got on the phone - I was told by a very snotty woman first ...

I found Vertbaudet quite good, I love there clothing but you do have to go up a good size for the correct sizing to fit, I have brought plenty of items of Vertbaudet and found them great quality and pricing was quite good, I have only had one issue with them and that is that they did not have an item in that i had ordered for abour 3 months so i did cancel that request as the size would have been too small for my daughter but they were really good ... ...always recieved my goods from Vertbaudet within about 7 days from when i ordered from them online, they always email me to tell me that my items have been despatched and when to expect them which helps alot cos then i havent got to worry about what day its coming and to be in and 9/10 times i get my items in the morning. I would recommend but you have to go up a size with clothing so if your child is say 12months order 18months stuff...etc...

I have been with Vertbaudet for a year or more now and find them very good. The only thing I will say is that it can take up to 3 weeks for delivery of your goods but apart from that they are good in every way.
You can order by post, fax, internet and phone so option's for everybody. You can order between 8am-11pm 7 days a week by phone this is.
Payment you can add to your personal account, write a Cheque or use Credit cards and Debit cards so there again option's for everyone.
I think this is why I like dealing with Vertbaudet as they cover everybody in every way.
Delivery well like I said it can take up to 3 weeks but they state delivery within 5 to 10 working days. Postage & packing is £2.45.

As any mother will know, children's clothes do not last long, this is either because children grow at such a rate that they do not fit for long, or because they go through so much wear and tear that they can sometimes fall apart!
As the mother of two young boys aged 3 and 1, I tend to look for good quality hardwearing clothes at reasonable prices, when I started shopping with Vertbaudet, I was not disappointed.
