Bedtime fave

This book was a gift to my daughter, and it happens to be one of my favourites to read to her at bedtime! It combines various elements that to me make it the perfect book to read to a little person...

Rhyming fun

Each page introduces us to some new animals in the jungle, and has a fun and catchy rhyme...

Cheeky Monkey likes to play
Jungle peek-a-boo
He hides behind the big brown tree
And then swings out at you!

These rhymes make it really fun to read, and my little girl likes to jump in with the last words on each page.

Bright and delightful

The illustrations in this book are bright, bold and fun, with lots of happy and cheeky looking animals inhabiting the jungle. These bright images make the book very nice to look at and of course very child friendly.

Peek-a-boo!

But the thing my daughter likes best about this book as that each page features pop-up fun! And these are not just small elements on the page - most pages have massive pop-up animals. This makes the book really enjoyable and my daughter loves watching the pages being turned to see what comes next. Her favourite is a large wiggly boa that "bites" her hand.

The book is brilliantly designed and the pop up elements are really brilliantly done and of a high quality. The slight downside of this means the book isn't the cheapest - the cheapest copy on amazon is over £6. However this is quite a special and lovely book so it could be argued that it's worth the extra money. It would make a lovely gift for someone with a new baby, or a birthday present for a 2 or 3 year old.

This book is by Jack Tickle, and looking on amazon he has written lots of these pop-up books, and I'm quite tempted to add one or two more to our collection!

Highly recommended.
