Advantages good quality products
Disadvantages my bad experience, strange product range
The first time I arrived to Chertsey was about two years ago. My plane arrived at about lunchtime to Luton and it took me 2 hours to get here by train. My husband was still working but I popped into his office to let my luggage there. I was pregnant with our younger one and bringing luggage with me was tiring. I had to wait until he finished his job so I went walking in Chertsey. I was walking by the local Sainsbury’s when I observed a very strange shop: Very Venetian. The shop is within the Sainsbury’s Centre which is like an arcade and Very Venetian has a large display. What caught my eye were the Venetian carnival masks and the Murano glass jewelleries. The masks looked beautiful, they are colourful and of premium quality.
I didn’t go into the shop but I was wondering why in a little town like Chertsey they sold Venetian masks. I was in Venice for the Carnival twice and once in the summer and I bought a little porcelain mask there but I would never consider buying one here… Anyway I found it strange but walked away. After we moved here to Chertsey I walked quite often near this shop as it’s near our way to the playground. I fell for a Murano set which consisted of a red heart pendant on a black cord and matching earrings. After being asked by husband what I would like for Christmas, my birthday and wedding anniversary and asking for this set and not getting it I went in and bought it for myself. I had a silver set from this shop so I knew they are of good quality. I bought only the pendant as the lady was in a hurry to close and urged me. I tried the pendant with a shorter and a longer cord and choose the longer one. I paid and came home. The next day (yesterday) I went back to buy the matching earring too. I was told that I took with me the shorter cord too. I came home to check it but it wasn’t in the box. I took the pendant with me to find the matching earring to it and showed her that I don’t have the cord with me. She asked me to pay the shorter cord too which was 1.5 pounds. I paid it as my honour worth more than 1.5 pounds but I felt extremely hurt. I took the red hearts just because I am falling for them but I will never buy anything from that shop ever again.
Since we live here in Chertsey the shop has changed its profile so they sell bath bombs and soaps too. Half of the shop is similar to a Lush shop but I am not sure what brand they sell exactly. It is not Lush nor The Body Shop but the range is similar. The masks are still there and they are really beautiful. I was told that the range of jewellery won’t be increasing as the bath things are more selling than the Venetian stuff so they will run them out slowly depending on Christmas demand. If you want to take a look at some of their products, please visit www.very-venetian.co.uk. Despite me being humiliated I think their products are nice and of good quality. Their prices are about the same as the Venetian prices. My set with having the cord paid twice was 24.70 pounds which I consider an acceptable price for this set, especially because I buy only one or two a year into my collection.
