"First defence" is an interesting concept. A nasal spray that is meant to keep colds at bay. How could that work? There is no cure for the common cold, so logically you can't prevent it either. Other than by eating healthy and staying inside and never having contact with other human beings. But alas, I'm not a hermit, neither are you either in all probability. I'll admit, this another one of those products my wife had bought and stuffed in the cupboard and I didn't even know we had. She likes doing things like that.
In our house, the cycle of illness is quite a common thing. Both my wife and I work in stuffy air conditioned offices where colds, bugs and flu's are regularly passed from person to person. Inevitably my wife seems to catch them first then is kind enough to give them to me. On the last occassion that occurred and I groaned "oh no, you're ill again? ill look forward to catching it." My wife rolled her eyes and produced this spray from the cupboard. I was willing to try anything to avoid being ill, yet again. So I tried it. I have to admit, being a man, I didn't read the instructions, squirted it up my nose and inhaled. Big mistake. I'd recommend never doing that. Now not only was I starting to feel ill but i had a soare throat too. The spray is horribly painful if you get it into your throat by accident. The idea is just to hold it in your nostrils (which is an odd concept for a spray I thought). The thing is though it did work, i managed to avoid the illness. The next time, I didn't notice the symptoms early enough and didn't have a chance to use it as a "first defence" but instead used it as an "uh-oh! its too late now" defence, somehow it still seemed to shorten the length of the cold, which was nice.
Right now, my wife is coughing, sneezing and suffering from a runny nose. Right before we're due to go on holiday. Im dreading catching it, so i've been using the magic spray again. So far, its working perfectly. Only time will tell.
In the end, its a smashing product, just remember to read the instructions!
