Advantages: Fast and long lasting reief from a blocked nose Disadvantages: Read opinion
Oh well, the dark, damp and miserable days/nights of winter are nearly upon us, you know all them shivery colds and blocked noses caused by the dreaded influenza or common cold.
I myself suffer terribly from blocked nose/sinuses, mainly due to, well amongst other things, having my nose broken whilst Boxing when I was younger and never getting it fixed, silly me, and believe me its not much fun not being able to breath freely through your nostrils.
So, what can I use to rid me of this miserable condition?
Well, there are several products available in your local Chemist or Supermarket; one being Olbas Oil (to which I have already written an opinion on) and the other is “VicksSinexDecongestant and Nasalspray”. Now this stuff is good, I mean very good, it will clear the most stubborn of blockages and leave you feeling ...
Advantages: Smells nice and chemisty Disadvantages: Didn't work
I have a cold and it is early July, brilliant! My daughter came home from Tenerife last weekend with what I can only describe as Spanish Flu. She has been lying on the couch for a week now and I have been tending her with lots of ahhhs and oh dears and plying her with Lemsip and Complan. Meanwhile, I have managed to catch the little blighter germs and have succumbed to an ear infection and nasty runny nose.
Having run out of her necessary products to help her feel human again, I decided to buy myself something to ease the nose as I am fast starting to look like Rudolph of Red Nose fame!
Mooching around Tesco and feeling particularly sorry for myself I spied VicksSinexDecongestantNasalSpray. I remember the adverts of old with poor old Malcolm and his problem of going to work with a runny nose, but no!! It works for eight ...
Advantages: Instant short term relief Disadvantages: To be used as a quick fix only, DO NOT OVERUSE
it again about 30 minutes ago and it has provided much-needed relief!
Now to the disadvantages...
Firstly, it's not exactly pleasant sticking something up your nose, particularly in an open plan office, but hey, if it does the job who cares! This also means that no-one else can use it (well they can but it wouldn't be very hygienic!)
Secondly, it tastes absolutely foul! Some trickled down my throat yesterday (it was my own fault, I was lying down), and it was disgusting, so beware!
IMPORTANT
The spray should be used a a short term fix only, if you are still having problems after 7 days, you should stop using and visit your doctor. Even if they will only tell you to put your head over bowl of boiling water.
VicksSinexDecongestantNasalSpray is available at all good chemists and supermarkets, priced aroung £3 ...
