We have a couple of Victoria Wine shops in Newcastle, and I think they are reasonably good. At Christmas they had an offer of Lanson Black Label Champagne buy two get one free that worked out at under £15 a bottle. Their price for a single bottle was £21.99 whicj about two pounds dearer than Tescos and much dearer that Mr Aktar next to Chichester Metro Sounth Shields who used to sell it for £14.99 a bottle, but I no longer live there. Wine is becoming increasingly more popular in the United Kingdom and you will be able to get a punter’s view on the effect that this is having on our high streets by checking out the local off licences. When I move into my new house, we had a small shopping centre nearby a branch of Victoria Wine, I was pleased about this, not that I'm a heavy drinker or anything like that, but I tend to buy wine for special ocassions (Birthdays etc) The first time I went into the shop I was looking for a wine for my mothers birthday, I knew she liked red wine, but they had a really big selection and I didn't know what to choose, the manager came over he was very polite and friendly and he gave me good advice on what to choose.
