I'd been shopping round for some new hair care products as presents for my twelve year old daughter. She was very keen on GHD but they are way over-priced and the reviews I've read on their performance are mediocre.
So I got her some Toni & Guy straighteners and then came across the VidalSassoonHairHydrationHair Dryer. Now initially I was surprised as I thought the whole point was to dry and not hydrate the hair and I also had connotations of having to put water in the device; and we all know that electricity and water generally do not mix!
My fears were soon allayed when I discovered that the 'hydration' is achieved by the hairdryer mixing negative charged ions with the warm air stream which not only aids faster drying but also helps retain the hair's natural moisture, leaving it feeling soft and smooth and looking naturally ...
Advantages: Variable heat settings, swivel cord, excellent value for money, Ionic. Disadvantages: Buttons press too easily.
I got these straightners about a month ago after my others died on me and I've been so happy with them.
I was looking for a long time and everyone I asked told me to get GHDs because "they're the only ones that work" but I didnt really want to pay £100.
These were £30 in Boots and I have found them to be a brilliant buy because:
- the plates are long and narrow which works really well on my hair. My hair is just over shoulder length but I also have a short side fringe and layers.
- there are variable heat settings which is great for me as I have very thick hair. The max temperature is 200c which is apparently the optimum temperature.
- the plates have curved edges which means that you can also use them to curl your hair. I am terrible with things like this but the instruction booklet gives clear guidance on how to do ...
