These have a Temperature Setting which you can turn to adjust the Temperature, and come with a booklet guide to the temperatures to ... ...have only been using my Vidal Sassoon straighteners for traveling but I am very tempted to go back to using them full time.
I prefer these straighteners because they have lasted ages without fault, they're slim and get very hot which make it easy to go for curls as well as straight hair, and were a very reasonable price for the quality.

When my first GHD straighteners unexpectedly broke after only 1 year of use I was completely at a loss. I didn't want to shell out another £100 for straighteners which wouldn't last so I rushed to Argos to see what I could find.
As one of the cheapest straighteners of the time (around £30) and a well known name I decided to opt for the Vidal Sassoon straighteners. At first I was a bit weary as they seemed more 'gritty' than my GHD's and didn't run so smoothly over my hair, but I eventually got used to this and fell in love with my new straighteners and couldn't see how they were any worse than my first GHD's.
These have a Temperature Setting which you can turn to adjust the Temperature, and come with a booklet guide to the temperatures to hair type, which I found very useful as it has around 25 temperatures. I found the temperature for me, so it didn't damage my hair but worked effectively. It also has an om/off switch on the straightener so you don't have to keep plugging it in to the mains when you want to use it.
Unfortunately I found that they got quite dirty easily and quickly, and the hot plates started to look quite old and worn after only a few months. I still carried on using them and they didn't get worse, and so far they have lasted a good 3 years. I was bought a new pair of straighteners for my birthday and have only been using my Vidal Sassoon straighteners for traveling but I am very tempted to go back to using them full time.

I got a pair of really good Trevor Sorbie straighteners as a christmas present this year, and they were amazing! However soon all the ceramic coating started to peel off and i was left with a slight burning smell when straitening my hair in the morning - not good!
So off i went to buy a new pair, thinking i didn't want to spent too much money since these previous ones had been quite expensive, and what a waste of money!
I was surprised when i seen ... ...try them! They were placed next to an almost identical Remington pair that did look quite attractive, but did happen to be twice the price. So i purchased these thinking that if they were rubbish, i hadn't wasted too much money on them.
I plugged them in and was quite surprised at how quickly they heated up! The box had said 60 seconds but usually that means at least two minutes!

These Straightener's are fantastic. I've had mine for 2years or more and they still work the same as the day I bought them. They are great for all hair types. My sister who's hair is fine and Mum who's hair is very thick use's them all the time. ...straightened my hair instantly, these Vidal Sassoon straighteners did not feel as hot, even on the highest setting. I had to use them on each section of hair a number of times to achieve the desired result, and my hair is naturally quite straight so I wasn't asking too much of them! I would recommend these straighteners if your hair is not particularly wavy to start with, and you are looking for a mid-priced model. However, if you want the best result ...

Advantages: effective, temperature adjustment feature Disadvantages: squeaking noise made by the joint
I purchased this a few months ago and it's proven very efficient.
There is one thing i noticed right from the first day though - when used, the joint makes a sqeaking noise, a "feature" i quickly got used to though.
I've also found that the two plates aren't perfectly lined up against eachother, so you have to squeeze them together a bit, which becomes tiring after a while. The cord is long enough for me to plug it in my room and go all the way ... ...though you might find it encumbering if you plan on travelling a lot.
You choose the temperature, which is my favourite feature, because my hair is already a bit straight, so I can set a smaller temperature and not damage my hair too much.
It also gets heated up in just a few seconds - great if you're on the run, like I usually am in the morning. ...

...I recieved a pair of Vidal sassoon straighteners from my boyfriend as a last minute gift. Like most people that use straighteners I could not live with out them and use them every few days and whenever I am going out.
This straightener is a small white straightener with white ceramic plates.The straightener is slimlined which makes it ideal for people like my self who have fine, mid length hair. Unlike most straighteners I have used this has a long ... ...my hair and have plenty of room to manoeuvre
On the bottom of the straightener there are grips so you can get right into the root of the hair. On the side of the straightener there is an on/off button as well as a red light that indicates when te straightening iron is fully on.
The main feature for this straghening iron is that it has a dial that allows you to differ in the temperature you want. This could depend on what texture your hair is, personally ...
