Advantages Cheap, excellent quality, easy to install
Disadvantages Remote control is not very good, length of connectors
I bought the Videologic system in January for a total of 250.00 and I must say that I was very impressed with it. As a relative newcomer to home-cinema I was looking for something that was easy to install and provided a notable difference to my stereo t.v. Well, after reading various reviews of this product I opted to buy it, and it does everything that I wanted it to.
I know that there are more expensive systems out there, however, I have a £200.00 DVD player and a £600.00 digital t.v., so I saw no point in spending more when the rest of my equipment wasn't up to it.Amazingly easy to install and with all of the right connections I was up and running in surround sound mode within half an hour.
I decided to go for the 5.1 system instead of DTS for 2 reasons - the first is that it is approx. £100.00 cheaper and the second is the relatively limited release of DTS titles. Coming from a stereo television 5.1 is immensely different and I am sure will be good enough for the low end home cinema users like myself. The instruction manual is also excellent, very easy to follow with various diagrams for setting up the system in different shaped rooms.
A couple of downsides to the package. The remote control is Credit-Card sized and could be a little easy to lose. Also, the remote is not as accurate as it should be, sometimes you can press the volume button and it will turn the power off.
Also, although all the leads come with the system, the connector from the decoder to the sub-woofer/amp is a little short and doesn't give much room for re-alignment.Overall though, a great product for people looking to break into home cinema.

Good choice!! I have been weighing the options for and against the DTS, ask a "purist" and they'll say DTS! but the limitations of it far outweigh the benefits today, great sounds ahead, cheers, CH
