I've recently brought this TFT monitor as my two-year-old CRT monitor gave up on me. I'm not into gaming at all so I was after a simple TFT monitor with a large screen without paying anything more than £150.

I shopped around for no more than half an hour before I found Misco on the Internet and was instantly keen on this model and its price.

The item was shipped out the next working day and the following day I received the monitor and was not disappointed.

The monitor was packaged well and was very easy to install (using the power and analogue signal cables to link the PC to the monitor) and it was up and running. I flicked through the user manual afterwards and it only confirms what I did. It also has a few trouble shooting tips.

Onto the monitor itself then, the first thing I noticed was how much brighter and clearer the picture was compared to my previous CRT monitor.

There are three easy to use control buttons on the back of the monitor. The bottom turns the monitor on (and off when held down for 3 seconds), it activates the OSD control menu and selects each function. There other two buttons are the "+" and "-" buttons which increase/decrease the volume (when using the internal audio which I have not used) and to move the function selector in the OSD menu either close wise or an anticlockwise direction.

Although the screen is very bright initially, it is very easy to adjust the settings to adjust to your own sight.

On the downside the monitor has one "dead" pixel, which is constantly green. As I'm not into gaming I don't find this a great problem but for someone who would use it more for playing games I wouldn't recommend this model. On a white background the pixel can't be seen (so in Word, Excel and two thirds of websites I should be OK).

It also has an annoying tendency to wobble especially when typing and I feel the base doesn't do a good enough job at holding the monitor in the upright position.

In addition to the screen itself, the package also contains a Quick Installation Guide, a Warranty Card and a CD with pdf files in various languages (user manual).

There were two power cables (one UK and the other US type), a cable to link the monitor to a PC (analogue signal cable) and an audio cable.

I purchased my monitor online from Misco for £138.64 including postage and VAT. In the process I earn £5.65 (5%) cash back having gone through the Quidco cash back site.

Overall I'm very happy with the monitor and would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get a reasonable priced TFT for the first time. It was also within my budget and probably will be for many others out there who wouldn't use it for games.

Review of V7 L17AB by arnoldhenryrufus

Advantages: Size, it hardly takes up any room, excellent clear screen
Disadvantages: none as yet.

I have only just had this about a week after my old faithful extremely large 19" monitor failed on me. We bought our new very sleek flat screen 17" monitor from www.lbcomputers.co.uk - we paid £159.00 for it. It is not the cheapest outlet, but we find them very helpful and they have been maintaining our computers for the last couple of years. They also offer there own guarentee on monitors. Video Seven TFT monitor
Review of V7 L17AB by Faye05

Advantages: Clear Picture, modern looking and good value
Disadvantages: Green line appears on the right hand side

I scoured the internet for the cheapest 17" TFT monitor last August, and this was the best out there at £209.99 from Amazon. They have gone down in price considerably over the last half year, but this was the best bargain i could find at the time. On the plus side, it has worked perfectly from the start and was very easy to install. The built in speakers are great, as it means i no longer have keep replacing batteries. They're not stereo - quality ...
...computer use. The picture quality is sharp and i've had no problems at all. A bad point is that a very fine green line appears down the far right hand side of the monitor if the screen you're viewing is black. It doesn't bother me enough to do anything about, but i guess it might bother others if you're expecting perfection. Video7 does issue a guarantee, although it seems quite complicated as the company isn't based in the UK. However, i have been ... Read review

A stylish monitor to turn heads
Review of V7 L17AB by ruth_abdel

Advantages: clear picture, stylish appearance, good value for money
Disadvantages: not found any yet

I bought my monitor 6 months ago. I was looking for a 17" flat screen that seemed good value for money and stylish enough to have on an exhibition stand. At that time this model seemed the best purchase I could find on the net. I have been very pleased with the buy. I've had no problems with the monitor in the six months that I have been using it and it is used almost constantly seven days a week. Lots of people have commented on what a nice monitor ...
