...Sure, it might not smack you in the face and say 'look at me, i'm shiny!' but the acer aspire one has got to be the most reliable, sturdy and best value netbooks around.
Starting of, as i usually do, with a summary of the style of the product, the acer aspire one won't win any beauty paegents, but it is functional in it's design. Sure, i'm not a fan of the whole gap-between-screen-and-hinge look, but it works. The netbook has no real standout design features, but it isn't the ugliest netbook around (step in the advent netbooks please). The aspire ones saving grace is the ability to buy it in several colours: pink, white, blue, black, brown, red, chinchilla... with such a range it is almost certain you can find the colour for you, which normally makes the netbook more attractive anyway.

Space is limited on the landing where I had decided to house the computer system, so I had to buy quite a narrow workstation. Having a flat screen has allowed plenty of room for a keyboard, printer, scanner, speakers and mouse mat with space left over for writing and reading books and completing household paperwork.
Acer have three ranges of monitor: Prestige Line, Office Line, ValueLine - with the Prestige Line obviously being the most expensive. Screen sizes go from 15", which I would say was too small, to 20" - rather large for general use. A 17" inch is ample for the everyday user, if you have a little extra cash or wish to use your computer for watching TV or DVD's then the 19" is...
