Advantages: Good basic player Disadvantages: reliability lets it down

WHY USE MP3 OVER CD?
MP3s are compressed audio files, so instead of having about 20 songs to a cd, you can store up to about 170 songs on a cd. The downfall here is that you need to have a computer with a cd writer or at least be friendly with someone that has. The player also does not come with any software to help you with this, but I would recommend Nero as a burning program. The audio data needs to be encoded as mp3 or cda (normal cd data) otherwise it will not play e.g. wav or midi files. I’ve found this player to be compatible with all my cd-r and cd-rw cds.
SOUND QUALITY
The sound quality is good, however the volume controls are at set amounts, so it can be annoying if 1 setting is too quiet and the next is too loud. There is the option to put on S-XBS, which boosts the low frequency and basically adds a bit more bass. Its...

Advantages: Holds more than 10 albums Disadvantages: See below
...I recently went to use my personal CD player and to my disappointment it was broken. Anyhow I decided it was time to give up the ghost and buy myself something new. I grabbed the Argos catalogue and had a browse and spotted a cheap little 1 GB MP3 Player and as I have just added all my CD collection onto my hard drive a short while ago I thought this would be ideal.
The MP3 player made by a company called iitronics who have their own website www.iitronics.com . The model that I purchased was the IMP-65 Portable WMA/MP3 player. It can hold up to 1024MB of data and has a built in microphone.
The packaging was very good and it included some basic earphones, a USB cable, an AAA battery and a CD driver disc. There was also Warranty card and a user manual.
The earphones are very basic and struck me as peculiar because near the jack...

Advantages: Versatile MP3 player sports a friendly interface that should help make it a stiff competitor to Apple's IPod Mini. Disadvantages: Touch responsive system not very slick!
...The highlight of the H10 is an attractive 1.5-inch display that, combined with an improved hardware-and-software interface, makes the player a joy to use. The touch-sensitive slider control makes navigating your music library a breeze, and IRiver has wisely abandoned the oversimplified folder structure that it used on previous hard-drive players. Now you can easily browse by artist, album, genre, or song title.
Music sounds good if you upgrade to a better set of headphones than the included earbuds. The player lets you add individual songs (but not albums or artists) to an on-the-go playlist called QuickList. I found that procedure a bit tedious in my tests; I imagine that most people will prefer to create playlists on their PCs and sync them to the device.
The H10 does more than play music: You can also listen to and record FM...
