Disadvantages: A little expensive - but not once you appreciate the difference it makes.

...Cyrus PSX-R Highly Regulated Power Supply: One could easily be excused perhaps, for being more than a little sceptical about the benefits of or, in particular, the ‘value’ of this somewhat plain-faced, apparently unexciting looking box of electronics. After all, it has absolutely no controls or switches whatsoever. Nothing to ‘play’ with at all - except of course, the basic electricity mains on/off switch situated on the rear panel. You cannot ‘adjust’ anything at all – not even a volume control. I mean, come on, where’s all the fun in owning something as ‘bland’ and boring as this? The ONLY thing on the front panel of this Cyrus PSX-R ‘thingy’ is a tiny little standby/on LED (Light Emitting Diode), no larger than a ……. well? LED - which glows red when in ‘standby’ mode and green when ‘on’. Really quite disconcerting for all us... Read review

Advantages: Alpine 9855r - Touch Glide, BioLite Display, MP3.
Disadvantages: None

...the back of the unit to the leads that my previous head unit used. This allows the 2 connectors to slip into each other without cutting and having to match up the coloured wires. The touch glide bar allows the user to quickly browse thorugh the many different songs that the MP3 unit can play. I recently had my car broken into so the deceiding factor of purchasing this unit was the detachable front panel. The Alpine 9855r is IPOD ready however needs additional KCA-420i adaptor. Downloadable custom settings for the head unit from Alpines i-Personalize website MediaXpander to make your compressed music sound like CDs and comes with a nifty little remote for passengers to use. Advantages: easy to use, has video plus, inexpensive
Disadvantages: without DIVX playback and no DTS decoder.
