Either you are an occasional user, or you use your computer heavy duty, a monitor, in my opinion, is something that one should choose carefully. You can get by with cheaper less quality components for the rest of your system, but the monitor is something you are going to be staring at from the moment you turn your computer on until the time you turn it of. Thus, as stated previously, a good monitor is highly recommended.
On the other hand, with so many different manufacturers and even more monitor screen models, it is quite difficult which one to choose and which one to avoid. The following is one of my recommendations, a great looking and even better performing monitor screen.
Viewsonic E790 is a great choice for anyone striving for a perfection and great functionality in the computer screen. The first thing that you will notice on this monitor, is the great attention to the detail that Viewsonic has employed in designing this monitor screen. The unit looks quite sharp and is great addition to any home or office environment.
However, I would never recommend or buy a product that just looked great. The unit has to be functional and great performing at first. If it passes this first test, than I might look at its secondary features such as ergonomic design. Nonetheless, with 0.22 horizontal and 0.26 vertical dot pitch and maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 at 75Hz, the E790 has proven to be quite decent and highly requested and rated monitor. 19" (18" Viewable area) super contrast screen, easy to use on screen navigation and set up, are just a few features this monitor has to offer.
As far as toughens of this unit, the Viewsonic monitors have been known to be of a prime choice of anyone who wants the impeccable performance in the monitor screen. I have rarely seen anyone complaining about the unit not being functional to their needs or performing to less than what Viewsonic had promised (one the best performance and toughest designing monitor screen manufacturers out there). When such occurrence happened, in my experience the customer was always treated right and the conflict was resolved to customer’s satisfaction by one of many Viewsonic authorized repair depots. Coupled with three years manufacturer's warranty, you can rest assured even though you will pay a bit extra for a name Viewsonic, you are buying the best product for your money, (your definitely will get worth your money).
Overall, to conclude this review, this beauty is definitely my choice of a monitor. Great performance, best quality workmanship and the great esthetical look are just a few features why I am recommending this product. For years Viewsonic has been known to produce the top quality monitors that looked great but worked even greater. However, with such quality and reliability, also came a hefty price tag. Thus an average home or small business user that was on a tight budget had to look elsewhere if he or she was to be able to afford a 19" monitor. Furthermore, Viewsonic monitors were also known to be able to hold quite stunning resolution and DPI (higher resolution ... ...users cried for the name Viewsonic for a different reason. Ever since Panasonic went out of business of making a regular screen (CRT) monitors, Viewsonic has been known and often referred as a Cadillac of monitor screens. The viewsonic E790 is an excellent monitor for its price. the technical specifications call for a 19" monitor, 18" viewable. it has a 0.26 dot pitch and the maximum resolution is 1600x1200@76MHz. be prepared to use a large font if you want to push the monitor to this resolution. the nicest feature of this monitor is that the CRT is an Invar Shadow Mask. monitors typically fall into one of two categories. their CRT (the actually meat of the monitor) ... ...and very easy to use. viewsonic has maintained their easy menu navigation and all controls are easily found and adjusted with only a few button presses.
the monitor's footprint is comparable to other 19" monitors (17.8" x 18.3" x 18.4") and fits comfortably on my desk at work.
overall the monitor is an excellent performer at the office or at home for the budget-minded. this monitor can be used for CAD as it does provide high resolutions with high ...
