Advantages: Friendly on the eyes, DVI and Analogue input, flat screen Disadvantages: Looks.
...I was looking for a 17-inch monitor that was good on the eyes when sat in front of for long periods of time. Not that I would advise anyone to do that, but my girlfriend was just starting her Computer Animation course at university in September 2000.
After looking around for what was available I decided to buy the 'ViewSonic OptiSync PF77'. It had received a number awards and I knew that ViewSonic was a very respectable brand. It cost me £220 at the time, which as I recall was not that bad at the time.
Starting with it's looks I have to say that it is ok to look at but nothing I would call special, but then in my opinion very few CRT monitors actually look good! Advantages: HD, Widescreen, High Resolution, many features & security Disadvantages: NONE TO DATE.
... ViewSonic VX1940w 19" LCD HD Widescreen
Purchased this monitor from PC World, it cost me £150, which was a bargain indeed, its super powerful performance and video response of 2ms, puts it top of the chain, with many added features such as 1680 x 1050 HD Resolution and 3000:1 dynamic contrast ration.
The monitor itself is a slim stylish bezel design without taking up valuable desk space... The high neck and floating head design accentuate the visual experience, although you can also but a wall of desk ark to completely remove the monitor from the desk fact. The design gets a 10/10.
Another bonus to this monitor is that it is Windows Vista Verified, and has many security features such as, the Kensington Security port, which deters theft, and prevents your settings from been altered, very useful, if you have a family...

...This is my review for the ViewSonic VA703b. I have been using this monitor now for close to 2 years and I have no problems with it.
Instead of just being compatible with VGA it also works with the new(ish) DVI at the same time.
It is an alright 17". This is OK if you want it for office work but if you want it for games, videos and pictures it is good but you would be better off with a 19" or bigger. I do play games on it and it still works quite well. What is more important to games is the reaction time.
It has really good reaction time and this is the reason why I got it. At a very low 8ms (mili seconds) it just gives a clear image every time.
I delighted to find out that it is compatible with vista.
It has 1280x1024 native resolution that delivers incredible image detail for sharp text and graphics.
It has a high...
