Advantages: High contrast, very crisp and sharp, high viewing angle Disadvantages: Provided software more a pain than an advantage
The Viewsonic VP930 monitor is, according to Viewsonic, one of their higher end LCD monitors as it is in their "Pro Series". Well I have little reason to argue, although it isn't perfect.
The overall look of it before you turn it on is very nice, with narrow silver coloured borders and a black, sturdy stand. The monitor can be adjusted up and down easily without having to turn any knobs. You just put a little pressure downwards or upwards, and it ... ...people but it is something Viewsonic could have made a better job of.
Viewsonic have a policy on these monitors whereby you may return it as DOA (Dead On Arrival) even if "only a single sub-pixel is constantly bright on a dark background" (quote from Viewsonic's website). Advantages: Crisp sharp image that will definately answer the question, was it worth spending more money Disadvantages: The price is the only disadvantage here with many cheaper brands now on the market
I'm not in a position to buy something I want all the time. Finances are tight, so when I have the budget for something new I do my homework, visits stores, spend many an hour online to make sure my hard earned cash to going to be spent on the best I can afford. I researched this monitor before buying and all the reviews I read now mirror this one. The image quality is absolutely superb. Crisp, clean & sharp, the VP930 is truely an excellent monitor. ... ...shadows here just perfect image quality. But, they are not the cheapest monitor out there. And that doesn't bother me because on all too many occassions i've gone for the cheaper stuff and regreted it. This monitor (in my opinion) is worth every penny. Shop around though as prices variy quite a lot. ...

Advantages: didn't last long enough to make a judgement Disadvantages: Not replaced when it broke - customer services just ignore customer!
...I emailed the receipt to Viewsonic who said they'd collect and replace it immediately.
2 weeks later I got a phone call saying they can't find a replacement, but will get one to me within a reasonable length of time. This is not a rare model!! If I wanted to buy another (which of course I never will), I could get one from loads of internet shops. But apparently not Viewsonic. They "can't find one".
It's now 4 weeks later and I still have a broken ...
