If you a gamer or your pc is for the most part a media center, then the vx922 is a great monitor. With a native resolution of 1280x1024 everything is easily visible on the large screen. Physically it's very sturdy, build very solidly, and arrived without any dead pixels! If you aren't 100% sure about setting up the monitor refresh rates and resolutions to make sure you're getting the best picture, the install cd will do it all for you. The monitor included both dvi and vga hookups. One big advantage is that you are able to hook two computers up and then using buttons on the front of the monitor, switch between the two (labeled "1" for vga connection and "2" for dvi connection). The reason I call this a great gaming monitor rather than a great monitor all around comes down to the very low response time (2 ms). For gaming or movies, and images that are constantly moving it's great. There's no ghosting or fading. The picture is better than my old crt and my 4 other lcd monitors (some of them fairly new and over twice the price!) As for the down side to this monitor, I must stress that this has ONLY been tested by me with a vga cable. To me, text seems to be a bit more blurry on the ViewSonic vx922 than it does on my sony sitting right next to it (both hooked up to the same graphics card, dual display). The difference is minimal but if you spend more time online reading a forum than playing games, then this wouldn't be the monitor I'd recommend. Getting a monitor with an 8ms response time with a sharper picture would be my recommendation. The last thing I noted was the viewing range on the monitor. If you're not right in front of it the picture deteriorates much quicker than my other lcd monitors. Minor sacrifices for a gamer but it could be major if you plan to use it in an office environment.
