Advantages Advantages New VFX, Use Of Touch Screen

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Short, Awkward, Hard

Viewtiful Joe : Double Trouble for the DS plays the same as the Consosle versions except most of the powers use the touch screen. In Double Trouble there are 6 VFX bars instead of the normal 5, also mach speed and Zoom FX powers have been removed. The VFX powers that feature in this game are: -Slow = Slows down action + increases damage (in old games) -Split = Allows you to split the screen horizontally, used to jump through walls or move objects. -Scratch = Damages/stuns enemies by scratching them with the stylus -Slide = Similar to zoom, but only in Slide can you use Touch -Touch = Used to ... more

Advantages Advantages A good edition to the series, as always unique visuals, music and gameplay.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly shorter and easier than the console versions.

This is a single player review only. If you've played Viewtiful Joe on any console before, you'll be at home with it on the DS. It's more of the same original gameplay you can expect of the series, and introduces some new features such as "scratch" (which rains bebri down on enemies), "slide" (which splits the screen in half where you can slide to a desired position) and "split" (which essentially zooms into the action and is a bit like "zoom" from the console versions). These exclusive features provide lots of puzzle solving opportunities, and as such the brawling action is toned down a bit ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great Graphics

Disadvantages Disadvantages Gameplay is to slow.

Joe is back.... And now he hits the DS. Viewtiful Joe DS is a colourful game and includes many different levels and powers available to not only job but his allies aswell. Because of these factors this adds extra gameplay elements to the game for example Joe can use SFX movie moves to counter enemies and then other characters can also use their abilities. Wifi modes are limited but Ad-Hoc play is possible and this adds the the longetivity of the game. Lastly however the story mode needs to be longer because a normal casual gamer could complete the title within a week or faster!!!! However ... more

Advantages Advantages Original game, Continues the magic from previous games

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fighting can be tedious

This time set in a movie studio, Joe has to save the girl again.... I have to admit, I had trouble getting used to the controls on this game, also I found having to use the touch screen with the buttons complicated. The graphics aren't really something you can judge on this game as it is meant to be 2-D but then the 2-D graphics are exceptional. The plot of the game isn't the best, but at least it's fairly original. I feel this game is probably the best in the series, and it's move onto the DS has done it good as the game seems suited on the touch screen, although some improvement is needed to ... more
