I moved my mortgage and current account from Britannia and Barclays respectively after having been with them both for some time. The reason I moved was mainly the good product that Virgin has on offer, namely the Virgin One account. This enables you to offset your current account funds to reduce the amount of interest you are paying on your mortgage. I now pay lower interest payments and I'll have paid off my mortgage a lot sooner than I would have with the traditional repayment scheme. Virgin are also very good with customer service. The banking is all telephone or on-line or you can use RBS facilities if you need a counter - you can also use ANY cashpoint without charge. Setting up the account was a bit of a trial as it is effectively a re-mortgage and entails all the legal rigmorole, but it's well worth it. I now have no problems, my accounts run smoothly and I'm better off.

Advantages: Lower interest rates than other credit cards, stylish choice of card designs, widely used Disadvantages: Minimum payment of £25 is quite high. Additional charges can be costly, alot of additional post.
