The latest craze to have swept Blackburn just before Christmas was the Virgin Vie Party phenomenon. When I received my invitation I was a little apprehensive as I had been told that the products were very expensive. Against my better judgement I arrived at the party armed with a bottle of wine ........and my cheque book.
The living room was crammed with ladies excitedly flicking through the Virgin Vie catalogues pointing at several products nudging each other asking " Have I to get that ? " and " OOooooh that's really nice I'm getting two of those ! " I found a spot to perch on and started browsing through the catalogue.
I was very impressed with the choice of products on offer and finally decided on the 'one step face base'. My regular foundation was about to run out and although I was a little suspicious of these so called foundation and powders in one I thought I'd give it a try as all the other Virgin Vie party regulars recommended it very highly.
There were 6 shades available, alabaster, ivory, soft beige, honey, caramel, and sable. I opted for soft beige as I thought that it would provide the most natural effect. I wrote out a cheque for £13.50 and was told by the lovely virgin vie lady that it would arrive within a week.
True to her word the party hostess delivered my one step face base within a week as promised. It was contained in a little red box wrapped in pink tissue paper in a fancy little Virgin Vie carrier bag. I couldn't wait to try it. Apparently as we were approaching the festive period the packaging of the one step face base had been changed and instead of the regular navy blue my one step face base was a very festive shiny red and looked very luxurious. I flipped open the clam shaped container and wondered where the applicator sponge was. It was located in a secret compartment underneath the actual powder ! I quickly moisturised and then began to apply the face base .
I was surprised at how easily the powder was applied. I achieved a fantastically even finish in a matter of seconds. This product is ideal for busy women who don't have much time in the mornings. You can achieve a natural even finish that looks like you have spent all morning working on but in a fraction of the time. You can apply the one step face base around 8.30 in the morning and still look as fresh at 5.30 in the evening. The powder feels light on your skin almost as if you aren't wearing any make up at all and it can be easily removed with your regular cleanser in a flash.
At £13.50 for 12g the one step face base could be considered a little on the pricey side. Refills are also available in every shade but at a more affordable price of £10.50 each. I do believe that the one step face base is worth every penny. So If you are looking for an effortless make up then this is the one for you. I believe that it could probably be one of the best foundation powders available. Try it you won't be disappointed.
If getting to a Virgin Vie store is a problem as there are only a handful nationwide and you have no friends who could invite you to a party you can shop online at www.virgincosmetics.com.
