If you have read any of my virgin vie ops recently, you will know that I had a Virgin Vie party about a month ago.
The Virgin Vie products are all great but I had yet to try the make up, so this time I had decided to have a make over done. These are regularly done for the hostesses (me) at parties, you can either have a facial or a make over. So after a quick cleanse, tone and moisturise, to make sure that I had the perfect base for any make up to be applied (as if there was any doubt!!) the rep applied the foundation, to do this she had to first find the right shade for my skin tone, she tried the ivory one, first which is No. 2 on their scale of 5 different shades but this was too dark, so she went for the first one on the scale, called Alabaster, as I am very pale. Did you know that when testing for foundation colour you should apply to face and not back of hand, as skin tone is different from face to hand and you should ideally test in daylight to get the correct result. Then the rep continued my make over by applying colour on my eyes, this is the first make over I have ever had so I was really nervous about blinking, breathing and moving in general.
Anyway, when she had finished eyes, lips and cheeks I went to look in the mirror and to my surprise the make up she had chosen was the opposite to what I am used to wearing and I looked totally different!! I know that is what make overs are all about but I just couldn't believe my eyes I had to keep going back because I thought that maybe it was the drink.
I haven't worn foundation for ages and I also the eyeshadows I normally go for are browns and beiges, the rep went for pink and lilac and I must say that it makes me look younger I am so pleased.
As with all virgin vie classes/parties if your guests buy anything your get hostess gifts and I managed to get the eyeshadows as my gifts. The foundation can also be a hostess gift.
It costs £13 but what do you get for your money, well the product come in a lovely navy case with an easy to open clasp to it, inside the casing is the 12g powder foundation and lift that up and you find the applicator sponge. On the lid of the case there is a handy mirror. There are refills available for £10
This powder goes on easily, all you have to do to apply it is to sweep it across your face, it covers evenly and doesn't dry my skin out too much. Its so quick and easy to use it takes me less than a minute to apply and lasts for hours, the longest I have had mine on for is 4 ½ hours and it looked just like I had put it on when I was taking it off so I am very impressed with this product.
The Virgin Vie catalogue says "Probably the best all-in-one foundation and powder ever! Gives a wonderful shine beating base in seconds." I can only agree with this.
The colours it comes in are
Alabaster (mine) Ivory Honey Caramel Sable
Virgin Vie also do other foundations but this one seems the quickest and easiest to use as there is no need for messy creamy foundations and separate powders. The Foundations they do are
Keep control 50ml £9 Far from basic Foundation 50ml £8 Skin boost Foundation 25ml £12
They also do a two powders called Far from Basic, the loose powder is £9.50 and the pressed powder is £9.
Virgin Vie can be contacted on www.virgincosmetics.com or tel 0845 300 80 22. They do have a few shops dotted around the country too!
I thoroughly enjoyed my virgin vie party/class with make over included it was great to try the products before buying. This is definitely the best way to experience Virgin Vie.
Virgin Vie offer a 30 day money back guarrantee on any product that you have a problem with, like for example, an allergic reaction.
this is a great read. my friend works for virgin vie and i'm sure she will be please with this when i tell her. i also use the all in one face base but in ivory. its great. did you know you should apply with the applicator sponge being damp.
i would recomend all of the vigin vie products.(i have got most of them.)
the mens products are also very good.
I know, I know, I'm the big bad for going in the face of public opinion and rating it an 'H' :) I'm being really picky here, but you had some grammar problems in the opening paragraphs which made it really hard for me to read. Definitely a contender for the world's longest sentence :) It was a great op other than that, and if you do decide to edit I'll come straight back and re-rate it a VH. Laura xxx

Great op - thanks Amanda. I'm not sure if I could hold a "Virgin Party" and keep a straight face though! Kirsty
