I use an Mac for work purposes and a PC at home. On the Mac, time is of great importance and every feature that saves time saves money and there are quite a few great time saving features on Mac OS X that do just that!

Microsoft VirtualPC 2004 is an emulation application which emulates is able to simulate Windows and Linux operating systems as well as being able to simulate the installation and use of other software which makes it possible for this software to be used for vast numbers of uses.
I have mainly used this software in the past to prove that I can carry out a task for course work. For example, formatting the hard drive because I don?t want to have to start from scratch.
Using this software to experiment with things that you haven?t done before makes this software great because if something does go wrong then you only lose the virtualPC and not the PC with all of your work on.

Backup MyPC used to be sold under the Sonic brand name but after Sonic bought Roxio, a number of their programs have changed hands. Now under the Roxio monicker, Backup MyPC6.0 is the latest version of the now long established backup and recovery program.
The Program can be used standalone but also integrates nicely with the current version of RecordNow! Deluxe. One of Backup MyPC's strengths is the wide range of hardware it supports. As well as tape, CD and DVD, it also works with ZIP and JAZ drives and other removable type media. IDE, SCSI and USB are all supported although there are some caveats. You cannot for instance use USB based floppies to do a disaster recovery from as there are no DOS USB drivers.
