Visioneer Strobe XP-200

Advantages: small - takes very little desk space
Disadvantages: single sheets only - cannot be used to scan page of a book

I have been using the Visioner Strobe XP-200 for a year . This is now an essential piece of kit for me. It takes up very little room on my computer desk and sits comfortably between keyboard and monitor. It was very easy to set up and calibrate and was in full use within fifteen minutes of unpacking. Scanning is easy and fast, just insert the page to be copied, print side up, into the scanning slot and the machine will immediately start up and feed the paper through. The scanned sheet is turned through 90 degrees and exits the scanner in a vertical(upward) direction, this allows unhampered paper feed even when the strobe xp200 is pushed right up against a monitor. The main advantage for me is the size of the machine which means I can have a scanner right in front of me all the time. This saves a lot of time as I can scan any ...

Easy scanning anywhere you are

Advantages: Compact, easy to use, portable
Disadvantages: Can only scan single sheets

I bought my Visioneer Strobe XP 100 because it is a great little scanner for use on the move. My main PC that I use for work is a laptop with docking station and I wanted something that would easily connect with that. I needed something that would let me organise all of my documents, photos, articles, brochures, and business cards and this Visioneer gave me all of that in a very compact unit that was light and easy to carry. It will pack easily into a decent sized laptop bag and gets its power from the USB port which mean I am able to scan documents anywhere I go and I don't have to carry lots of power leads and adaptors. It is a small scanner which works by means of a roller which takes in your document through a slot on the top, passes it over the scanner, and then pushes it out through the back. Because of its method ...

MCS-700 Strobe for the BT VP1000 home alarm

Advantages: Gives you the external Strobe \ siren to compliment your BT VP1000
Disadvantages: Requires power supply so not totaly wireless

If you want to add a strobe siren to your BT VP1000, you will need this wireless siren. I added the MCS-700 to mine and was very simple, and all my friends have followed suit. I Got mine from www.bpcsystems.co.uk, seems to have more bits for use with the BT VP1000 than other places I have tried, and their prices are quite good. The only negative point is that it comes supplied with a 2 pin plug and not a 13amp plug. Not a big deal I know, you can simply put one on, but why should you have to ? Another point is the Siren "squawks" 1 squawk when arming 2 squawks when disarming. I have left mine switched on, but I know a couple have had this switched off, but this can only be done by the supplier. They have to call the alarm box by modem and remotely program it on or off, you can not do it from the panel. The siren was ...
