Advantages: decongesting, cleansing, refreshing, soothing, just great Disadvantages: cannot use essential oils in it

This is where the visiq comes into the picture. Great for a breath lift after travelling and getting road fumes or being affected by someones perfume in the shop.
Yes you can use a bowl of water, stick your head under a towel and get the steam that way, BUT, be honest. Do you really feel like going to all that trouble when you are feeling so ill? I don't. It's enough that Im feeling shaky and might drop the kettle, let alone have ... more

I cannot use decongestants because of heart problems, and antibiotics are contraindicated too, and on top of thet, I am asthmatic and using the inhaler causes my heart to play up as well, so is only used when I have absolutely no option and need it desperately.
Coughing is the natural body response to thickened mucus, when you take medicine to suppress it, you are just leaving that gunk to sit and fester and maybe turn into an infection, then need antibiotics to get rid of that. NOT GOOD. Plus, asthmatics generally cough at night too and are prevented from sleep.

It's enough that Im feeling shaky and might drop the kettle, let alone have to lift it with my muscles hurting even more than usuual (I have M.E.)
So kettle, bowl and towel begone. I need you no more. I can a great clearout much easier now.
I like the larger facial mask best because it has no holes in the side and I get the full steam. The small nasal mask seems to let all the steam out before I get any of it. Maybe Im using it wrong but for me, its the big one!!
It only takes a tiny amount of water to get a 20 or 40 minute steam from it, and there is a nifty little measure cup provided. It takes just about three minutes to be ready for use, and you can adjust the amount of steam as well. Start on minimum if you are not used to it.
I can sit steaming away, and still see whats happening around me. Its a pity the wire is not a bit longer though, as it doesn't reach well to my table and stretching the wire places me at risk of catching it with my elbow. But still, Im grown up and know to be careful.
Apart from the on ad off switch, it has a power indicator light, so you do not have to sit waiting for it to heat up only to realise you forgot to switch it on! The size and light weight of it allows it to be stored in the kitchen cupboard too.
The facial mask is big and quite tall, with a softish edge for the face to rest in. I have to admit I hover just above as it is VERY hot otherwise, but as I adjust to it, can have it on low and get my face in there good and proper now.
There is a steam protector, which stops the water bubbling up into the face and burning you. It works great. I got a free headband with mine too, which is very helpful.
It is a pity you cannot put essential oils into it, as the vapours would make the steam benefit even greater, but it does thin the gunk and allow you to breathe easier, which is my reason to buy it. The facial is just a bonus in my case.
Its really easy to use and to clean the masks, and is a very great help for me. I would not use it on young children, but from about ten they should be ok. Depends on the childs intelligence level and maturity really, so best use your own judgement here.
For me, its the best £8.99 spent. THANKS ARGOS!!
So, if you were in doubt before, be in doubt no more.
I can always remember as a child my mother giving me a bowl of hot water and a towel draped over my head, to inhale the steam to help when I had a cold, to unblock my suffy nose. As with all things, new products are brought on the market to aid us through life and this facial sauna is no exception. DESIGN: It has a white plastic base, with a detachable contoured facial mask and a nasal inhaler, which are purple transparent colours. It has only one ... ...base. It is operated by mains power. The facial mask is nicely shaped to fit your face into and is comfortable; both the attachments just push on to the base. You get a measuring cup supplied with it and the user manual is very easy to follow. It is very easy to store as it’s not that big, also it’s lightweight.
USES:
Helps to keep your skin healthy by cleansing.
Relieves chest and nasal congestion.
It opens your pores to release ...

Advantages: easy to use, refreshing and invigorating, clears nasal congestion Disadvantages: slightly uncomfortable to use
...who has everything? - a VISIQ facial sauna. I received mine for my birthday, and being something I have never even thought about I wondered when, I would ever feel the need or get around to use. I decided that I'd better give a try a.s.a.p as my friend would soon be asking me how I was getting on with it.
I will firstly go through the unit. The VISIQ facial sauna comes packaged in a fairly small square box. It consists of a number of different parts ... ...concentrated and directed straight to the right area...in less than two minutes I could breathe again!
PRICELESS.
The VISIQ facial sauna is an attractive piece of kit,its mauve coloured attachments give it "beauty salon" appeal. It's a handy, though non-essential gadget...I could live without it...but I'm pleased I've got it! ...

Advantages: Effective and good price Disadvantages: None known yet
I was looking for a steam inhaler for my son to help with his breathing, when he had a bad cold. I searched Internet sites for a steam inhaler. I found some products from the medical supply sites, but they were quite expensive for home use. I searched my trusty old Argos site (I sound like an Argos sales promoter!) and found this product which was a dual function facial steamer and inhaler. The store catalogue showed a number of brands of ‘facial ... ...attachment for a very reasonable price. The facial sauna has now come to my use while my son uses the inhaler attachment! I have found this as a very useful way of steam inhalation and the steam supply is constant and very effective.
The facial Sauna/inhaler comes with two attachments – one for inhaler and the other one is a big facial mask. There is rubber rim on top of the facial mask which is quite comfortable. There is a steam supply control ...

Advantages: Opens up you sinuses Disadvantages: Takes a minute to adjust to steam
I bought my facial sauna because I suffer from bad allergies and my sinuses are always congested. I don't particularly care to take Sudafed everyday and wanted something more natural. This is the product!
So, whenever I get a cold (I naturally get congested), I get out my facial sauna and add some peppermint and eucalyptus oil. Now, the first time I did this I added to many drops and it was overwhelming! So I suggest 1or 2 drops of peppermint and ... ...my sinuses and I felt awake and alert.
Another thing I did the first time I used it was I waited until the water was boiling to stick my face in. Big mistake! I had a really hard time breathing. It was too quick of a change for my body to handle. So in addition to only a few drops of essential oil, stick you face in before the water boils and you can adjust to the increase in temp and steam as it is happening. But I would definitely recommend this ...

Advantages: great for your skin Disadvantages: none
I bought this product at Christmas when my doctor recommend using a facial sauna as a way to inhale steam regularly (I need to do that because I have problems with blocked and stuffy sinuses) and this is the least time consuming way to do it. Not only that but obviously the product is designed as a facial sauna to deep cleanse the skin and pores so as an added bonus I also have clear skin too now.
The product costs £12.99, it can be used with aromatherapy ... ...has a detachable facial mask, which is designed to fit the shape of your face and a measuring beaker to add the water.
This product is to me a complete lifesaver, it saves me having to boil a kettle and stick my head over a bowl. It also gives your skin a real healthy glow and leaves you feeling all fresh and tingly ...
