Advantages: seems to work quickly, easy to administer. Disadvantages: a bit pricey - may not be as effective as first thought!
With a major flea problem in our house I needed a quick fix, I looked at the various means of eradicating these pesky little mites but was limited financially to what I purchased. I had heard various different reports about frontline but thought that it was quite costly, therefore I decided to go for Johnson’s a name I know well, but not this product I was unfamiliar with dog flea tablets and was concerned about the effects this tablet would have ... ...and the lady who served me recommended the product highly saying that she had tried frontline on her cat, and that it had not worked anywhere as effectively as this product, so that sold me the product. With a major flea problem in our house I needed a quick fix, I looked at the various means of eradicating these pesky little mites but was limited financially to what I purchased. I had heard various different reports about frontline but thought that it was quite costly, therefore I decided to go for Johnson’s a name I know well, but not this product I was unfamiliar with dog flea tablets and was concerned about the effects this tablet would have upon my pets. I purchased the product from Lloyds chemist and the lady who served me recommended the product highly saying that she had tried frontline on her cat, and that it had not worked anywhere as effectively as this product, so that sold me the product. I purchased two packs as I have 6 dogs along with a huge spray can of flea spray for the house!
I dosed all the dogs at the same time. I put some into the dogs dinners but the fussy eater had hers administered the old fashioned way, as the tablets are small they are very easy to pop down the back of the dogs throat. The reviews I have read stated that the dogs would start scratching like mad, but this never happened, one kept biting himself, but no scratching.
After Treatment Within a few hours I was able to pick up the still wriggling bodies of fourteen fleas, they did not seem to have the ability to jump! I am perplexed to how the product actually works, and I sincerely hope that it does not upset the dogs tummies tomorrow, but with all the dogs blankets now piled in the utility room awaiting their 60o wash and every bed sprayed with flea spray I am looking forward to seeing some positive flea free results, I have never had a problem with fleas in the past, and do not understand why I have had this early in the year, however I shall continue to give all my dogs garlic tablets regularly and hope that this solves the problem for sometime to come.
Update: it is now a week since my dogs were given this product, sorry to report that all my dogs show signs of still having fleas, and have seen and caught live fleas on three of them today 27/6/09, have re-dosed all dogs again and treated all bedding again! will update in a weeks time.
