I consider myself to an amateur photographer, only using a camera for special occasions and holidays. When I do take photos, I take hundreds. (On my trip to New York I got through a roll of film a day!) This can be quite costly, so last Christmas I decided to hop on board the digital camera revolution. I did my research and decided to go for a camera with at least 4m pixels, optical zoom, that was under £100. I had considered the likes of Kodak and Cannon, however the less well known brand Vivitar had the same spec at a much lower cost. At this time, the Vivitar Vivicam 3826 was the camera that fitted my specification perfectly, so I popped along to my local Index and bought the camera (£89.00 December 04). I have not seen the camera anywhere else, however, the Vivitar website has a list of all stockists.

Yet another camera review. I have had so many cameras in my time but this particular camera is my girlfriends and what a camera it is. She purchased this camera about a year ago and has been using it since. The reason that I am writing a review about this camera is because I have used it more than her and I seem to know all of the ins and outs of the camera so I thought why not write a review and see what other people think about and maybe persuade some other people to buy the camera.

I went on a mission to find a reasonable privced digital camera and found the Vivitar ViviCam 5388. On first glance I thought that it would not be very good, how wrong I was.
This is a small lightweight camera only weighing 116g. It is easy to use and has quite a lot of features.
It has two exposure modes programme and auto. It has white balance presets for flourescent, cloudy , tungsten, light and daylight.
It takes and stores your photos as JPEG images. It has an intergrated memory of 16MB, which although small can be increased by adding a SD memory card.
It has built in flash and built in red eye reduction. Also it has a self timer mode.
The screen is a 2.4" colourscreen with LCD display and TFT matrix.
Additional items included with the camera are 1x USB lead, 1x DC Power input lead, 1x Composite video output. Also included ...
