All of a sudden what seemed out of nowhere last year moshi monsters appeared and every child seemed to own a "moshling" on the online game named moshi monsters. My sister was one of many who was fascinated by the craze and not before long it seemed you could get just about everything moshi monster (cards, stickers, keyrings, clothing, watches and the list goes on!).
One of the first moshi monster merchandise to be released was the moshi monster blind bags, the figures you get inside are also available in 5 packs and retail at £4.99.
about the product
Before I start the product I am reviewing is the series one moshi monster blind bags, series 2 has since become available and although retails at the same price included totally different monster and from working in a toy shop I’ve heard that series 3 will soon be on its way in 2012.
Each blind bag contains 2 moshi monsters although the downside to this product straight away Is that there is no way of telling which 2 monsters you are going to receive, so if you have someone who wants to get the whole collection you could end up spending alot of money on this product, its also worth mentioning that some are rarer than others the chance of finding them in the blind bag is less, you can always have a good feel of the bag but its purely chance, luckily for my sister quite alot of people at her school also collected these so if she received a duplicate she could swop it for one that she had not already received.
The retail price of each blind bag is £1.99 and as well as containing 2 monsters you also receive a collectors card and an online code which can redeemed on the moshi monster website, my sister found she was getting quite a lot of the same items in the end though! The sizes of the bags are 3.2 x 5.5 x 2.5 cm and they weight 18g. These blind bags are widely available at a variety of stores including Tesco, WH Smith and newsagents and also on-line at places such as Amazon, play and eBay.
There are over 50 monsters to collect in the first series varying from common monsters which are quite easy to find to rare glitter monsters which are alot harder to find and go for up £15 each, out of the many bags my sister has had over the months she has had a few rarer monsters so they are out there!
The blind bags are made vivid toy group ltd and are made in china. These are not recommended for under 3’s are the monsters are very small although the exact size varies with each monster, my sister is 9 and really enjoys playing with these, she plays with them alongside the moshi monster tree house play set which I have also reviewed.
The moshi monster blind bags are a great value for money pocket money toy retailing at just £1.99, my sister really enjoys playing with these and when he friends come round for tea they have great fun making up stories, I’d recommend this product as there well made and despite being very small are very detailed. 5 stars from me!
