Advantages: Superb pics and price. Disadvantages: Haven't found any
...My old digital camera had served its purpose well, but being only a 3 Mega pixel was now somewhat out dated. So I was on the lookout for a cheap good camera. I had planned on getting at least 5 mega pixels because I do feel that is this techno age a 5 Mega pixel is the least you need. For those uneducated in the terminology let me simplify it for you. Basically the higher the mega pixel value of the camera the better quality of picture you will get. A 3 mega pixel will produce 3 million dots to get the picture whilst a 5 mega pixels will produce........................yep you got it 5 million dots in the same area therefore there will be far more detail.
I'm reasonably techno minded but no over so so I did require a camera which would be simplicity in itself to operate, and low and behold I found it. The Vivitar 5385 met all...

Advantages: Picture Quality, Live view, Tilting Screen, Fast AF, ISO range Disadvantages: Small viewfinder, Slow processing, Availabilty of lenses
...I have had my Sony a350 DSLR for just over 4 months now, opting for it over it's main rival, the canon 450d, and i don't regret my decision. The images it captures are fantastic, working well at low ISO settings. Image processing is a little bit on the slow side though when compared with the canon. The super steady shot also works well and as the battery life is the best on the market i have left it on since buying the camera. I would recommend buying a different lens to the supplied sony kit one though as the lens lets it down a bit. Another nice touch is the tilting viewfinder, which helps you capture those awkward low, or high, shots when in live view mode. The live view mode is the best avaiable on a dslr at the moment.
A recommended buy for any amatuer photographer....

Advantages: Live View, Tiltable LCD Screen, 14.2 megapixel Disadvantages: No Sony Memory Stick slot
...The Sony Alpha 350 digital SLR camera is a fantastic addition to the Sony Alpha range.
The introduction of a LIve View system and tiltable LCD screen make it a really good camera for enthusiasts that are making the leap from digital compact or bridge cameras.
Before buying the Alpha 350 I used a Sony DSC F-717 and found shooting with the 350s automatic mode to be a doddle but it has plenty of features to keep the more experienced photographer happy.
I find all of the buttons to be in pleasing positions and have no trouble handling the camera for both landscape (horizontal) and portrait (vertical) aspect pictures.
The standard 25-70 mm lens kit that comes with most offers is a good performer although I find the autofocus does struggle very occasionally when shooting macro pictures.
It is a good performer in low light...
