The look of this phone isnt greatly amazing, but is small and has a nice texture to the phone itself, the front screen is a black and white one, it can state the time, a track name and the recording feature for if you press the side key and use the phone as a dictating machine. The interior screen is sharp, large and rich in colour. Easily read text and big icons make this phone easy to navigate around, with shortcut buttons and the main menu itself.
The camera is fairly good with the phone, minor discolourment is a frequent feature along with the continuous annoyance of going back into default image size settings [I try and keep the image size 1.3mpxl but have to change the settings often]. The shutter speed is the same delay with any setting, so its worth having the image size as big as possible all the time. The interior camera is fairly good, image size is 640x800 and is useful for taking self portraits, and [for the people who would use it] a mirror.
The moving image [movie] camera is pretty awsome on the camera though, the basic frame rate is that of about 30fps and the image size is 176x144, so moderately large.
The mp3 player is good on the phone as well, nothing to compare with the sony erricson range, but still very good. There are 6 different audio levels and a nice crisp sound delivery. I recommend that if you are going to use the phone for this frequently that you purchase a 2.5 male to 3.5 female adaptor jack for the use of basic headphones, as well as a 1gb MiniSD memory card. There is an allocated mp3 button on the keypad for quick access, like the walkman button on a sony erricson.
The notepad feature/memo feature enables you to write memos [duh] or small segements of essays which can be transferred to a pc with bluetooth connectivity and then put into a word processor
Overall, this phone is very good for its price. I would reccomend it to anyone who has less that 100 pounds to spend on a new mobile.

3G Really has changed ... ...the phone. When we asked Vodafone when the software and data transfer cable will become available, we got this reply:
"Vodafone is in the process of getting this available for customers. At this time we do not have a timescale for this fix."
Volume quality on this phone is pretty good. The battery life is good, but using some of the phones features (such as camera and 3G) can drain the battery alot. With a full charge you can get around 7-10 days ...

I have had this phone myself for about 2 months and have had no problems with it (apart from my brother blocking it out by trying to find out my PIN.) There is really nothing wrong with this phone. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera which looks good on the screen but not so good after uploading them to a computer. BUT it makes up for this by having 2 cameras altogether so you can have video chats. It doesn't have very good memory but there is a slot for ...

I purchased a new Toshiba Portege 710 under VDA GPS(Vodafone) branding in Germany for about 100 Euro, and I must say that in my opinion the device has few, if any, competitors for the price, but I discovered a few drawbacks which I found more or less disappointing:
1) The battery life is really poor compared to a budget-class mobile phone I previously had. I've been using the phone for 3 weeks only, but the battery runs from fully charged to flat after 2 days of stand-by mode plus 15-20 minutes of talking. One of my intentions was to use the phone as a pocket e-book reader, but as I see reading at "bright" highlight level discharges the battery completely very quickly.
Strangely enough to me, the phone is losing datetime settings when the battery runs flat, so unless you charge it regularly you'll have to reset system time over ...

I bought the samsung e710 with a contract from vodafone a year ago. It was one of the best phones at that time and i was happy with the phone when i bought it.
It was small and stylish. The fonts are big enough and the camera quality is good (of course not as good as the 1.3 megapix ones now). I feel that the clock on the outside LCD is rather unique and nice. The screen inside is coloured but the one outside is just one coloured(blue). It is convenient that the flash can be switched on just by pressing a button on the outside, without having to open the phone, and used as a torch light in the dark.
