The Best Mobile Shops (Ciao Hitlist)

I started using Vodafone's network when i got my W610i (early 2007) having been an O2 user for the 3 or 4 years previous. I went into all the phone shops in Barrow-In-Furness trying to find a nicely priced Sony Ericsson for around £100 maximum, but preferably £60-£80 and found that the shops ... Read review

So inside the Vodafone shop which is quite space, with phones on one wall, accesories in the middle, a help desk and a counter in opposing corners. Quite well laid out and spacey, I stood and looked at all the phones and there was a few that interested me. I also read the offers on the little cards that were provided "unlimted weekend texts if you spend £5 in the week" was the most eye catching offer I'd seen all day then "Unlimited ...

By December of last year the phone was dead, and I again had to go phone shopping, with a budget of upto £120 for my birthday and christmas present from my mum (theres a review of the phone, the K770i on here by me) which was eventually bought in the Vodafone shop too I think, it was upgraded to a sim only deal a few weeks later with Phones 4 U who advised ... more

My Favourite Vodafone Store

Advantages: Staff available to give demos
Disadvantages: Not all phones in stock

...on one of the two Vodafone stores in Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield. The main store in Meadowhall is situated on Market Street. This store is reasonably large and has just undergone a major refit to install a new demo bar and to provide customers with increased access to the phones, enabling them to explore the features on the phones. There is always plenty of staff available in the store to help, and all seem knowledgeable on the phones ...
...£5 can be applied. Vodafone also have a contract with Nectar whereby customers can link up to 10 mobile numbers up to one Nectar card and claim points on their calls. You receive 2 Nectar points for every £1 you spend on Vodafone calls. Nectar and Vodafone also have promotions where if you upgrade or purchase one of their latest handsets you get bonus Nectar points. (I received 1000 bonus points when I upgraded). Vodafone operates a 14-day money ...

Helpful Depending on the branch

Advantages: See whole Vodafone phone range, accessories
Disadvantages: Not the most price compeitive, but has price match

Reading has two Vodafone retail outlets. One is not so helpful (without mentioning specific stores) and one is very helpful. This of course boils down to the mentality of the staff and perhaps more importantly the motivation given by the store manager. Anyhow needless to say I made my prepay phone purchase from the more helpful store. They were even prepared to grab a working phone from the store room to look up a specific function in the manual ...
...Vodafone, or you have a Vodafone a visit to the store will enable you to see the whole Vodafone range and the accessories, which may not be available elsewhere. Also if there is a Vodafone offer, you will know about it here e.g. 3 months free line rental. But if you are undecided about networks or are looking for a cut price deal, you would be better looking elsewhere first where they deal with all 4 networks. ....but it is useful to pick up their ...

UPDATED It should be a CRIME

Advantages: none they were useless
Disadvantages: Couldn't do anything right!

...answer. No news from vodafone for a week or two! I ring them and they say they are dealing with my account! But then a letter arrives stating that I have been refered to the debt recoverers! With an even bigger bee in my bonnett off I stormed to vodafone where I purchased the phone! Where I spoke to the most senior staff member as the manager is never there! He was sympathetic but we achieved nothing! I finally contacted the debt recovery people ...
...Well yep, you guessed it, vodafone gave them the worng details not once but twice! Its sorted now, no thanks to vodafone! I originally went to Vodaphone because of the reputation but frankly they were worse than useless and my advise is to stick well clear of them altogether! On a lighter note when dealing with vodaphone enquiries helpline then were unaware of the number change for Portsmouth last year! they were unable to give me correct telephone ...

After-sales service

A Very Good Service from Vodafone's High Street Store.

Advantages: Good range, able to offer you good customer care and change talk plans top up e.t.c because they are part of Vodafone.
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive for Accesories.

Vodafone Retail have always been very helpful, I brought my first mobile from them and have always used them ever since. The provide good customer service and because they are part of Vodafone you can top up automatically rather than having to buy a voucher and call the top up line. They sell a good range of phones always seem to know what they are on about. There computers actually let them do things so you can go in and they will do whatever you ...
...off forms. They are definatly the best place to go if you are looking to buy a mobile on the UK's No. 1 Network. The only negitive thing is that there accesories can be more expensive tham other places and if purchasing from their website you have to pay a delivery charge. http://www.vodafone-retail.co.uk ...

vodafone

Advantages: well priced
Disadvantages: service charge

When i was shopping for a phone i heard that vodafone was one of the best companies around, so i decided to buy my father a phone. i went into the vodafone shop and they had a wide range of mobile phones. The phone i chose was the mn1 because it was well priced and they had bright colours. The phone works well, except it crackles sometimes, but the reception is good in most places. The tariff is also good, calls are as little as 2p per min, but there is a service charge of £10 every 60 days. I would recommend vodafone though as they are a good company. ...

Review of Vodafone

Good

Advantages: Customer Service, Range of Phones, Price Plans, Cheap mobile internet.
Disadvantages: Expensive daytime calls?

I've read a lot of reviews mentioning they found vodafone had bad service. I found vodafone to have very good customer service, every time I've been to my local vodafone shop they've been very polite and efficient and have not pressured me into buying anything. Vodafone have some good features with their price plans - I especially like stop the clock (where you only pay for the first 3 minutes of a call at evenings and weekends) I've been with vodafone for 3 years now (after being with O2 (who I found absolutely terrible) and T-Mobile (who were ok but their customer service was very bad) and I wouldn't buy an orange phone after having their internet) and I wouldn't hesitate to stay with vodafone for my next phone too. Would recommend them to anybody. ...

Vodafone Customer Service

Advantages: A good way of loosing £100
Disadvantages: Abysmal customer service, stonewalling on problems, hastle, aggravation.

Consumers may be interested to learn of the following problem I have encountered with the customer service from Vodafone. I bought a Vodafone Maxon MN2 with prepayment for calls. Less than a year after purchase of the phone the plastic battery clips on the battery pack broke. As far as I am concerned this is shoddy design, not any form of misuse. I contacted two Vodafone shops (Newcastle and Gateshead) and telephoned Vodafone. All tell me that the battery is now unavailable, though the phone was a current model less than a year ago. My Vodafone is therefore completely defunct. Vodafone states that battery clips are not covered by their warranty (two letters from them to this effect), and have refused to do anything whatsoever. I have reminded them that consumer protection legislation requires goods to be of merchantable quality ...
